AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I would love for us to go balls out and replace McHenry with Newchurch, Smith with Worrell and ROB with Strachan.
But I reckon they'll replace McHenry with Schoenberg, Smith with Hinge and ROB will hold his place.
Good ins but nothing exciting. Maybe we'll get an interesting sub.
Sounds like they’re gonna give Worrell a crack
I'd love to see those 3 non-enforced OUTs, but Nicks et al are too conservative/unimaginative to consider what you've examined/explained in detail. At Docklands, we have the need for speed. Players who are slow by foot or slow reacting are useless.
Out - Smith, McHenry, Brown, ROB, Crouch
In - Milera, Hamill, Newchurch, Strachan, Worrell

Wrong thread, I meant Jacob MilbankIf you remember he was linked to us at one point late in his draft year as a player we'd followed closely..
Injured I'd say, fronted up for his first VFL game of 2022 on the weekend against the VFL's easybeats the Northern Bullants 19 disposals 6 kicks 13 handballs 1 goal
Not allowed into the club while Covid was running rife..Wrong thread, I meant Jacob Milbank
Hopefully we see this Himmelberg this week!Curious that in 7 rounds, Adelaide and Carlton have played 4 common teams, with fairly similar results:
Adelaide Carlton Freo (3rd) -1 -35 Port (13th) +4 +3 Bulldogs (10th) +1 +12 Richmond (9th) +19 +25
Crows have also played CWD (8th, -42), Essendon (16th, -4) and GWS (15th, -59)
Carlton have also played Haw (11th, +1), Gold Coast (14th, -30) and North (17th, +50)
Freo is the only top 8 side Carlton have played. I know we put bugger all pressure on, but the GWS side that turned up on Saturday was not the same one that lost to StK and Freo (and yes, I watched both those games, one live).
Apparently their defensive stocks are a bit stretched at the moment.
I sniff an upset in a high scoring game.

Think we see newchurch play some games late this year.Gee I wish they would give Newchurch a game but I feel if there was a debutant we would've known by now. He is quick, can take an overhead mark and great when the ball hits the ground and has GOAL SENSE! Would rather that than murphy or even rowe. Rowe played basically as an onballer in the SANFL and did well cause he is above that level. Not sure how that translates to him coming in to the AFL side tbh. Wasn't the point of having an SANFL side that we can play players where we want?
Other teams have done it & continue to do it? It's true you probably would want at least one of the rucks to have some nous as a forward too so you've got that angle. I think saying it can't be done is just lazy, yes in our case it would mean rejigging a fair few things eg up forward & through the middle. Can it be done? Sure it can, will it work? No way to know unless we actually tried it.Just on this. Heard Bickley say that this is a ridiculous proposition in today’s game. Can’t play two full-time ruckman.
Thoughts folks?
