I was calling him out for the shit standards he was setting earlier on and as usual the delusional ones on here were up in arms.
Fast forward to round 8 and the years over so who gives a ****.

FWIW he had 6 touches at half time. 6. That’s pathetic. His first handball set the tone for a shithouse night.

He and Greenwood had 10 each at 3 quarter time. 10 ffs

How the **** are we going to get anywhere when our 2 highest CBA midfielders have a combined 20 disposals over 3 quarters of football.
**** my life David what are you doing to this team.

3 years down the track…still relevant
In the three years since then he's been pretty good tho. Now he just gets swamped by the opposition. They figure we've got no one else and someone sits on him all game. If he wants to go to the next level he has to find a way to overcome that.

Has lost whatever made him unique and skilful. No sidestep with hardness, no depth in his kicking, no damage. nada. Vanilla.

Going backwards with the rest of the team.

A moment from Jy was a microcosm of the team.

Final quarter had a mark on a hbf. Could have bitten off (what I thought) looked like an acceptably risky 20m kick to a player in the corridor.

Shaped to do so, thought better of it and ended up going sideways and back - after a 3-5 second pause that lets Freo setup.

We don’t have or trust our skills to take the game on from our back half.

It bogs us down. Maybe a reaction to the horrendous turnover numbers of recent weeks, but I think there’s more to it than that.

It’s a good point you make Ferbs. Yes we are a victim of our own horrible play but it’s compounded when opposition know that they only have to stop Jy, Larkey and Hall ( 2 of which didn’t play tonight), so they can put all their effort into those players because the rest have little to no influence anyway. You can already see them locking down on JHF. What a baptism of fire for that poor man.

For as much talk as the club put up about the year he was going to have, he’s gone backwards.

I don’t know how good exactly he can be when he’s still inconsistent at this point in his career, a few couple of purple patch games don’t really convince me that he should be captain or if he’s capable of being a premiership midfielder.

He's playing as the #1 inside mid, i.e. Cunners' position. He's not exactly giving less than what Cunners gives in terms of defensive running. Problem is that Ben is irreplaceable when it comes to cleanliness and ball use.

Again, cool your jets on Jy.
It's like comparing a Ferarri to a horse and cart mate.

Haven't ever been sold on him, to be honest. Might seem like a reactionary take, but he had a lot of improving to do.
