The fixture is unfair that Geelong gets to play the Eagles and North twice!

Keep West in the seniors as well. Looking great.
I only noticed 1 but I’m sure your rightUndefeated and with an average winning margin of 101 points when we play two rucks this year.
Take me through Sweets highlights and we will see how you goI promise not to fight anyone on here this week
Not at all it just showed what is obvious that Sweet needs to work on his all round ground because he won’t get much ruck time when English playsTimmy was silly good tonight wasn’t he bloody hell, not sure what we do about our 2nd ruck going forward - tonight didn’t help sort that issue, probably just made it more complicated
Darcy will be the oneIt was like English got his little brother (Sweet) to fill in for his footy team because they were a few short.
There was a universe sized difference in their impacts on our game.
English is becoming a beast and we’ll soon start seeing those types of games against all opposition ruckman.
If we can bring in a more mobile ruck than Sweet that can impact inside 50 as well as hold his own at stoppages, we’ll have a scary Midfield/Ruck group.
An exciting prospect.
If only we had a hard at it small fwd mid who could average around a goal a game in their first 6 games or soIt’s hard to read too much into this because West Coast are horrendous but I think there are a lot of good signs.
Looks like we’re getting close to a team that makes sense.
Williams looks like a different player on the wing and is the best suited player on our list to play that role. McNeil, West and Weightman have the potential to be a strong pressure forward unit and all have additional layers to their game.
Sweet offers very little around the ground but it was nice to have a second ruckman, I hope they experiment with it a little more. I think he might be off more use against stronger rucks, English was dominating the taps and around the ground so there was little need to give Sweet an extended run in the middle. In a game like against Carlton where Pittonet was killing English in the taps, being able to shift to Sweet might be more useful. We’ll see if he gets more opportunity. Think the defense is close to our ideal set up, only question would be whether we want to add Crozier as an additional interceptor but I quite like the back 7 as it is
Lucky we didn’t drop the two macs a couple of weeks agoThat was just beautiful. Smashing those flogs in their home ground. But I really like were the lesser players in McNeil, Sweet, West (is getting better each game) and McCoom-ba man!!! Love this guy. Goes hard at the ball, improves each week and kicks goals. He created a couple of goals, his kicking is getting better. Henceforth, McComb will now be called the Macumba man. Magic that is there but not seen until it hits you. GRET WIN AND GOD DOGS!!!
McNeil ahead of West for mine his pace pressure and marking are crucial in the role he playsIt's been a good while coming, but West looks to have secured his spot. And probably McNeil too.
Amazing what a bit of continuity does for a marginal player. They are getting better game by game.
Williams' change of position seems to have rescued his season. He was among our best again.
No way is West ahead of McNeil, he is good with the ball but doesn’t have the closing pace of McNeil. I know stats and rating points are not everything but West was below both the Macs last night. He played well but still not ahead of McNeilEnglish is now competent in the ruck contests but his athleticism is just insane. He is such a weapon as he is playing as an additional mid who takes marks, a goal threat and has great skills. if this form continues he is a game changer. As mention earlier this does cause a 2nd ruck issue. English needs to play 80%ruck and 20% rest on bench. Hopefully Bruce can come in and provide relief or even TOB. Schache is the other option for me in front of Cordy.
Bont is looking like he is moving better and may soon be over his ankle.
West is definitely ahead of Scott, Vanders, McComb and McNeil. The guy is a contested beast and his skills are far much better than I thought. Has great vision, hands are elite. The guy will be a great inside mid in a year or 2. Let’s hope Bevo’s treatment of him in favouring players so much inferior will not lead him to leave us. The kid will play 250 plus games.
I respectfully disagree! West is a natural footballer, built for finals football pressure! Stronger than the others, Sticks tackles and creates pressures turnovers. Football IQ so far ahead of McComb, Mcniel and Scott. It’s quite a mystery that West didn’t get similar opportunities last year. Westy and Weightman forward pressure is really helping our side!No way is West ahead of McNeil, he is good with the ball but doesn’t have the closing pace of McNeil. I know stats and rating points are not everything but West was below both the Macs last night. He played well but still not ahead of McNeil
Not sure we watched the same game. West was brilliant and his off-ball pressure was elite. When he tackles, the ball is locked in. Mcneil played well but he's still prone to letting people break his tackles easily. No way is West ahead of McNeil, he is good with the ball but doesn’t have the closing pace of McNeil. Westy's hands around the stoppage are also very creative. McNeil is nowhere near his level of footy IQ.
Given they play very different roles what is the value of this debate. West is bringing a whole lot more to his role now almost redefining it and is a contested player with clean hands and improving skills. No way is West ahead of McNeil, he is good with the ball but doesn’t have the closing pace of McNeil. Exactly my opinion - you must of played at a high level too!Not sure we watched the same game. West was brilliant and his off-ball pressure was elite. When he tackles, the ball is locked in. Mcneil played well but he's still prone to letting people break his tackles easily.

And don't forget their dung heap advantage at home. Also why they continue to fail come finalsThe fixture is unfair that Geelong gets to play the Eagles and North twice!

McNeil is an outside player who has speed as well as high pressure skills when they have the ball

Not sure West pressures enough when the ball isn’t around. Will have a better look this week seeing him live. He certainly is good when the ball is in the vicinity but that’s only half the modern game.I respectfully disagree! West is a natural footballer, built for finals football pressure! Maybe my TV is different to yours as I find it hard to judge off ball work when not at the ground. Footy IQ perhaps but as I originally pointed out both statistically and in rating points both Macs played better. That does not mean West played badly just that the independent analytics does not back your assessment in last nights gameNot sure we watched the same game. It’s BF there dosent need to be a point but now you mention it my underlying point is that there have been multiple glowing reviews of West on here and other socials and don’t get me wrong I’m not saying he played badly just that others did better if your looking at the independent stats and ratingsGiven they play very different roles what is the value of this debate.
