We play good, hard footy and I love that about these Hinkley teams. The early Hinkley teams played with belief and worked harder for longer than their opponents, it was great. However there hasn’t been an evolution offensively since recruiting Dixon until this year and that feels more so the forward six moving/leading patterns which was forced on us with Dixons injury - not a squad wide evolution. The best teams become ruthless and play on edge, usually because of the fear of copping it. Arguably our best/most consistent player this year has been SPP because he isn’t solidified in the best 22.

That’s what the good teams in Chico’s era had, everyone knew that if they weren’t up to it they would cop it. As the tenure grew and the gold passes extended to half the squad we lost that edge.

It’s a fine line, but if you deserve a bake you’re gonna cop it, however if you deserve a bit of praise and a back slap BRACE!
