The other day my car broke down. It has broken down a lot lately, for years now. I'm always fixing it up but it never seems to stay good for long. It's bloody annoying because it is always same things that fail.

There's definitely a problem with the car. People say maybe I should take it to a mechanic, I don't know what they are implying, that I'm not doing a good job of fixing it? I think that shows what they know about cars, and it's very very little. Even that time it was off the road for a month. I got it going eventually for a few weeks, I'm living and driving in the now. Nobody ever wants to talk about those times when it is working again after my repairs.
Is this the guy you bought the car from?

What I'd love to hear is the rationale behind keeping him next year for anyone who thinks it's a good idea. So we keep him and the only way he stays is if we win the premiership? Then we move on if we aren't going to do that? So, given we already KNOW we won't under him, is there any defensible point that can be made to not moving on now and starting a year fresh with an actual shot at glory? Just like we should have made the call after the prelim last year, this year was always going to be a complete waste of everyone's time as it was never going to happen, history has told us, statistically we know. It's actually gotta be pretty statistically improbable that any coach taking over could have a worse record over 10 years. It's on their side that they will end up in a GF over that period ffs.

how's the stability of a coach that finishes 10th 40% of the time?
Plus a 100% record of never having made a grand final. Probably for the best anyway - we'd more than likely embarrass ourselves on the big stage, like we did in last year's preliminary final.

The deception and spin that has characterised this club under coch and hinkley knows no bounds.

I'd say Longmire but he hasn't had the balls to shave his head (still hasn't) so it's a bit of a dubious one. Before that it was Leigh Matthews.
Matthews still had the back and sides growing proudly didn't he?

Yep he did.

And an even prouder moustache.

The club and majority of the media, including Vic media think he's a very good coach,AFL is not about winning Premierships anymore, that comes second,it's about being competitive,AFL is fast becoming a joke, crowds are down big time, not sure about tv ratings, but tv contacts are the only thing saving clubs like port, even north Melbourne are debt free,we are swimming in Debt

Are we allowed to judge him yet though?

I'm still waiting for the "runway"

HINKLEY OUT

In hindsight, we should thank our lucky stars the attendees didn’t end up in a Guyanese commune,

“this carton of OAK smells funny…”

If you add in the time we finished ninth coming off the honeymoon period (2015) that's 50% of the seasons he's coached finishing 9th or 10th.

When you think about it, that means that we regularly make the grand final among the teams that finished outside the 8 - no wonder we've kept Ken for so long.

Oh come on - you don't expect the media to say he is shit. They wouldn't do that to any coach not even Brendan McCarthy or even Matthew Knights.
