It's a U.K. property term.

Being gazumped means you have your offer to buy a property accepted, but the seller accepts a higher offer from someone else generally right at the last moment.

Kingy's hasn't used the word in its correct context, I think he means in terms of * making a late play that their offer will be rejected. What he really should have said is something like they'll be beaten to the punch.
