The goal should be to rid stupid contracts.

Dump the list cloggers

Get the salary cap back well under.

Pick up a few cheap mature players.. to fill a couple list gaps/needs.

Tarryn Thomas or a old key back etc using at best a second Rd pick.

Come 2023 trade period we are cashed up pushing for top 4 and go bring in a few big guns

Did you watch the vfl today? Tarryn Thomas is a bust in my opinion

The Herald Sun has suggested we could be in the running for Bradley Hill.

I wonder if Cameron’s thinking is to keep Ellis on the back flank, and use Hill on the wing. Or they don’t rate Sharp enough just yet.

He has checked out for sure. Today not a good indicator of his talent, but unfortunately it is of his current professionalism.

New club could do him wonders, probably getting out of the Vic bubble as well. It’s just an expensive risk?

Sounds like Port are into ben McKay. If he is gettable we should be having a crack. I'd be asking the question to riley bonner if he would be tempted on a longer deal. Tarryn thomas a definite risk but the potential reward could be worth it, contracted for 2 years still at North just take on that contract and weigh up his worth in 2 years.
Listening to mmm they were thinking that today could have been a farewell game for sexton. Still contracted obviously but wonder if they have come to an agreement. Still worth having on the list as depth at worst.

Apparently he was unprofessional before he got drafted... I'm starting to detect a theme

I'd be absolutely stoked if we got Thomas.
High risk high reward.

This was an elite half a season - just 12 months ago.

The guy will still be 22 until halfway through next year.

Can't see him leaving with Clarkson coming in.
But I would be all over it if possible.

Not according to Dew in presser.
Congrats on the win , only thing is by winning 10 you may lose some of the extra rookie spots. Would keep Sexton thoughas cover as I am not sure Oea is AFL level and Rosa and Holman have had injury problems in the past

Suns dilemma.

Up until 3 weeks ago Suns thought they had Rankine signed for 600k for 4 years…

Now Rankine as good as gone..

The 600k however… remains 👀

Do we re-sign Rowell and Nosey this year

Or do we go spending at the trade table.. 600k pretty much gets you any player that’s not top 5 in a best 22

Doesn't really get you anybody of note as you to have to convince them to come and they generally stay for unders at their current club.

Just put the money into current players and opening up some cap room in future years so that we don't have a tight cap until we are in a window where we can attract talent based on us being a team that can win finals.

If Rankine goes, I’d look for a trade somewhere for a best 22 player. But I’m sure we try that every year. We know the positions and weaknesses of our team, starting in the backline.

We’ll have to wait and see who is available and open to a move.

We have salaries to shed or re-negotiate next year if we don’t do so this year, as quite a few contracts expire next year (Day, Fiorini, Flanders, Sexton etc.). I’d say Fiorini might want to look for a new home if he wants more opportunity, but if not he expires next year anyway. So we should have extra money for Anderson (who well deserves it) and Rowell come season end.

Alternatively, we try and look for players to fill a need who may be starved for opportunity like we did last off-season and trust that they will suit our system.

Can we please offer Noah Anderson a 7 year $800k mega deal before the season starts? As long as we have him and Touk in the middle we can build the rest.
