I've got some bad news for them.So Melbourne want two top 10 draft picks?
That’s a crutch that has cost a lot of players development not aided it, they aren’t natural footballers and it takes too long to get the intricacies that others naturally haveJackson came to the game late, as he had outstanding international junior basketball career.
I really doubt he has peaked due to crossing to AFL late.
Gawn and Witts yeah but jeez the others are a stretch. English should be NOWHERE near this list. This year?
Gawn
Witts
Tom Hickey
Tim English
Nankervis
Were all comfortably ahead of Darcy on performance.
Then there’s guys like Rowan Marshall, and Reilly o brien who had very good spells at different stages of the season.
I thought that Dixon and finlayson pinch hit very effectively in the ruck for port too at times.
Dixon tore Darcy to shreds in the final quarter of our game v port for example.
Didn’t see enough of Goldstein this season.
I’m a big fan of Sean but you have to say that he was down a lot since last year.
I think Darcy is a bit of a victim of getting rated against his best year, he was still a good ruckman and still had some terrific games (30+ coaches votes). Yes, wasn’t the same as last year where he was clunking everything but there’s only two names on that list who had better years as actual rucks IMO.This year?

Witts

a 2nd plus 2 3rds is a much smaller price than what we are going to pay for Jackson. It's not apples and apples.I’m not sold on his fit either but was the same with Clark so would be very happy to get Jackson.
I think something like our first this year (perhaps upgraded with other moves) and next is fair enough and maybe even a win for us.
For those upset at him not nominating a club yet it’s just the same as Cerra last year. Most in here, including me, thought that was the best way to go out. Jackson is doing the polite gesture on the way out. He seems a good bloke. The nomination will come a little later and doesn’t hurt us at all.
This keeps being said, and I agree, but his contract is valued at way more than 'potential'. A pick 13 trade and $500k x 3 years is a trade for potential.Jackson came to the game late, as he had outstanding international junior basketball career.

Please don't play the gender cardForward thinking: Dockers eye unique midfield role for Jackson
Luke Jackson appears unlikely to spend too much time in the forward line if his potential move west to Fremantle comes offwww.afl.com.au
It really does need to come out of the mouth of a man for it to be taken seriously.
Before pneumonia he was the best ruck in the comp this season, and that includes at ruck contestsEven Dogs fans are over English pretending to be a ruck
I HATE the idea of turning him into a mid more than I hate the idea of getting him in general.
It's more square peg round hole stuff - trying to invent a position for him rather than have him fit into a position.
Apart from height he has no other elite mid attributes. Disposal decent not elite. Speed for a big man but only average as far as mids go. Like English, if he wasn't 200cm he might have had a crack as a fringe mid, the height is the reason he is in the AFL.
I can accept he has the potential to be a good ruck/fwd even though I think that a) is an overrated position and b) he hasn't shown it.
Paying this much draft capital for a non-elite mid? Even more nay from me.
Cripps is too immobile for a modern footy mid most of the time, and would run rings around Jackson at stoppagesI suspect he could play as a midfielder given his ball winning and tackling. What I'd question is whether he is a better midfield prospect than many on our list.
900k midfielder is Clayton Oliver. Are we getting a mid that good? Obviously we have NFI and that's the problem. Literally paying him for potential for a position he's never played at AFL level. Its like the Zac Williams the midfielder thing at Carlton.
I don't know if this is true. I suspect that Jackson is a far better Athlete than Cripps. That said, I wouldn't be blown away if I was wrong.Cripps is too immobile for a modern footy mid most of the time, and would run rings around Jackson at stoppages
Maybe in straight lines, but there’s a lot of small step work that mids do that you wouldn’t want to depend on Jackson forI don't know if this is true. I suspect that Jackson is a far better Athlete than Cripps. That said, I wouldn't be blown away if I was wrong.
