Jack Bowes has asked for the green light to explore trade options, good player at his best, not a need for us though... joins Rankine and Fiorini looking to get out, Suns will have a lot of picks to trade out.

I can’t help comparing the savaging we got with the go home 5,compared to the lack of media comments on the Freo situation. It seems there are currently 5 players from Freo trying to get out and being traded to other clubs. Two of them are even wanting to go to the bottom club. And this from a team that has just played in the finals. Sounds like there is a massive problem there but it just gets overlooked by the media for some reason.

If Ross Lyon was coaching the media would be all over it like a fat kid on a cupcake.... Justin Longmuir is currently a media darling, media love narratives.

If we could pull it off, he would be a fantastic get and would be a half back/wing option.

Interesting to see everyone's written Collingwood off already despite them just about winning it this year if things had gone their way.

There's been a fundamental change since McCrae took over from Buckley. I can't see them losing that in the off season.

The big issue for them is replacing Pendlebury when he gives it away. He's still a very good player.
You don’t see the younger Daicos taking over from Pendlebury in a couple of years?

Give him a couple of years to build his body, and he’ll be cutting teams up.

st kilda have the most nothing list in the afl

a potential superstar in king, a solid midfielder in steele then a collection of overpaid jobbers cobbled together by enticing them from other clubs

the club needs to hit the draft and i feel for ratten as hes on a hiding to nothing
You haven’t looked at West Coast’s list have you?

they won a flag with the core of that list and are now acknowledging a rebuild

st kilda is meant to be competing for flags and finals right now with that list. i cant see it happening

its just going to be more mid table mediocrity

At least West coast are a year ahead on getting early picks? But I tend to agree with you.
I believe both had decent drafts last year. Pretty much on par with the level of talent each brought in.

Let’s wait and see what the draft order is after the trade period, and then the pick trading period ends.

The first 12 or so picks in this draft are pretty even, and that includes Ashcroft.

It wouldn’t surprise me if one or more of Cam McKenzie, Mattaes Phillipou, or Bailey Humphrey ends up the best player out of this draft, and currently very few draft watchers have those three in their top 5 kids.

Apart from Barrass and Allen, the core of that flag team is over 30 and have one foot in retirement.

I totally agree about St Kilda.

Agree, from the outside Bell appears to be a campaigner

What do you mean, if things went their way?
Things went their way all year!

But not when it really counted Dalions.

Say they'd lost a couple of close ones ,that would've seen them still in the 8.

As it was they had to front Geelong and we saw the match.

I reckon this was a year they could've easily sneaked a flag. But didn't.

Agreed, Saints are in no-mans land at the moment. Not bad enough to completely bottom out but not good enough to make finals. Some tough calls are going to have to be made there if they're any chance of returning to relevancy.

Worst possible spot to be as a club - they've completely stagnated.

Who is reportedly leaving the Saints?

Hill
Clark
Long

Tom Joyce let go by West Coast. Thought he showed a bit in the seconds for us, bit of a shame it didn't work out for him
Unfortunate place to be, good enough to be on a list, but not good enough to get selected in the AFL. Hope things go well for him post AFL.

With everything else going on, just doesn't feel like Grand Final week...can't get excited about it at all.

...and even the GF parade will probably be a flop, change of venue to the Yarra, sounds good but a lot further away from the people, we'll see (wonder how they'll stop kids/idiots sliding into the water on the slopes)......and supposed to be solid rain by friday..

..I will probably cheer for Cats but not fussed about either tbh.

Stuff Hawthorn FC and Patrick Cripps!
