The North board is an interesting read. Real nasty, personal stuff directed at a teenager whose private life and mental state they know absolutely nothing about. I'd be very disappointed if this board had anywhere near a similar reaction if the equivalent happened at Port.

I don't rate them as a club at all they seem to be run by a cabal of ex-players and sycophants who don't run it well at all.

I used to belong to a club where there were a group of ex-players that I have always suspected didn't want the club to win a premiership because they wanted to keep saying that they were a player in the last premiership at club x years ago.

And I reckon that's the sort of chest thumping that goes on there. Shit club, shit supporters.

We did get very mad at jacobs' missus and her handball catching laundry basket.

Edit: found it.

I have 3 signed tops hanging up in my shed.

Dougal Howard - gone

Riley Bonner - soon to be gone..

And...

Duursma - EBay listing imminent..

You would think north are close to a flag the way they’re carrying on about losing a player who had little impact in their pathetic excuse of a footy team. For heavens sake, the kid wants to leave for obvious reasons, you’ll get compensated no doubt, why jump up and down like a bunch of hookers that have been short changed..nasty supporters, up there with the girlfriends from west lakes.

Would be a shame to lose Bonner

Tend to agree.
Seems he has finally got some self confidence and playing at a decent level. I think he has potential to improve further.
Unpopular opinion here but I’d rather lose Farrell, fades in and out of games way too much.

Bonner is at his ceiling, Farrell just starting to show his talent. For me it's Farrell all the way.

I’d rather not lose either as they both have improved markedly but let’s see what happens.
I just think Bonner has earnt a few credits and hasn’t done much wrong lately to simply be trade bait.

The way North fans ****ing carry on, you’d think we are the ones who have the shit list that finished bottom instead of a list that made a prelim final in 2020 and 2021.

Have you read the ken Hinkley thread? 😅

Farrell's best is at the truly elite level. When he's just placing every kick where he wants it like he's using a pitching wedge. It's game breaking stuff.

Does he get to that level enough and maintain it for four quarters enough? Not yet. But at 23 he is the guy I see with the higher ceiling.

And again, no disrespect to Bonner intended here, as I've said I'll be sad to see him go if he does go and would much rather give away our future second than either.

Its honestly not comparable.

There is some real sick stuff going on over there. I've spent a fair bit of time reading it to see what their expectations are etc. As with all fan bases there are a lot of reasonable people, but there are a sizeable number with a serious screw loose.

I havent actually looked and I think Ken G3ts w0t h3 d3$erves

The news has spread. In today's press Matt Turner and Jon Ralph are openly writing about Riley Bonner as part of the Horne-Francis deal. Not sure if someone on this thread took a wild stab and hit pay dirt or he or she really does have inside info.

Riley Bonner should have some attraction for North as he is 25, has played 82 games and played 17 of those last year when he averaged a touch under 19 disposals per game. I thought he probably had his best season for us.

The press is also writing about Ratugolea. Not sure how we will get deals for Horne-Francis, Rioli, Ratugolea and maybe Evans done without trading away most of next year's draft. Maybe Riley Bonner is not the only Port name on the trade table? Pure speculation of course but given the traffic in ruckmen this year maybe Sam Hayes' name is in the mix?

Good that Matt Turner and Jon Ralph seem to think the Horne-Francis deal is progressing constructively. The general consensus is Horne-Francis will cost the No8 and our future 1st rounder. If Bonner goes into the deal then surely that should get the business done? I would expect to get at least a future third back from North though.

Definitely going beyond the norm. It’s ok to be irritated but some of the stuff they have written is pretty ordinary.

You’re selling it nicely from one side!

I guess at the end of the day when a player wants out whether it be this year or next you need to put your practical cap on and do business to move forward. They would know this year is the time to move him on and will be we compensated.

After all he isn’t peak Dangerfield and hasn’t proven much if anything in the AFL.
