If Tredders is right and Ranking is getting 1.5 in the first year and an average of 450k for the next 2 (maybe less in the 3rd) then I predict Rankine will ask for a trade after 2.

He'd be mad not to if he likes money as much as that deal makes it seem.

Unless they've got the same manager, how would Tredders know?

Thomas was bloody close to going to the crows from what i heard
Crows just couldnt commit to 100% getting the trade done and Thomas didnt want to be stuck with his hands in his pockets at the end of the trade period

Has there ever been a time where a "chosen one" style kid actually works out and saves a basketcase club? Watts and Scully are the other two that I can think of. Watts was worse for Melbourne than JHF was for Norf, and Scully was probably pretty similar. I guess you could argue good bloke Hodgey but even then it went far beyond one person and he never had the pressure put on those three.

Clubs need to realise that attitude comes first, then gameplan, and for that you need to build a group of talented kids. Luckily for Norf they have another chance to do exactly that.

Wines gave our club a massive lift straight away. Really, at the time, there could not have been a single better recruit.

If only Brent Harvey had been strapped to Tarryn Thomas for eighteen months...

Agree with this, but I don't think we ever put "chosen one" pressure on him like Norf did with JHF or Melbourne did with Watts or Scully. In fact even in his debut season I think there was more of this focus on Wingard than him (or at least comparable).

He came in as one of the team and played his role.

Its why I think they have a much better chance with the Wardlaw/Sheezel combination (assuming its Sheezel and not Tsatsas which seems to be pretty accepted). Neither of those blokes will feel like they are solely responsible for "saving" the club.

I’m surprised Boomer didn’t come with JHF, he loves a greyhound.

I see someone dredged this one up from earlier in the season...

So, in a nutshell, he's taking his anger at North Melbourne for not engaging in a bidding war and projecting in onto a teenager, in the most toxic manner.
