Fortunately the resident labrador is unperturbed by thunder, and is currently soaking up pats instead.

Have found the barn cat, who is supremely unperturbed by 1500 pound horses stomping in his vicinity, is shitscared of thunder.

Learned this when he transited the space at the speed of light from sitting on my tummy in bed to up the curtains, claws extended, with a stopover on my face leaving puncture injuries in my nose.

Said curtains then structurally failed under weight of cat (note to self - check feeding, he's porking up) who came down on boyfriend's head, claws extended.

Cat now getting some time to reacquaint himself with his primary purpose of controlling rodents in the barn.
