Dribs n drabs

They want the same pay as the mens team...

I hope Antonio has a key role in the team as an assistant. Jumping straight to the head coach position would be risky.

Premiership by 2025 - Is this of the cards for the women now? I am not sure we can rebuild in time, although a better run with injury would help we have still lost Cain from our finals team and need to develop forward and wings. Do we think our bull can keep on dominating for another 3 seasons? Please someone encourage me that we haven't missed our window.

25% from three is diabolical. 31% is terrible. He needs to be at 36 + and even then it wouldn't guarantee him a shot. Big hill to climb but I hope he can do it.

League wide average is just under 37% so I think you're right.

Upside for Freo if he doesn't hit those marks is he can play for us for $400,000 a year off the category B rookie list. Or earn more money in a lower league playing basketball.

I find it difficult to comprehend posters on here saying our test bowlers shouldn’t be playing yet the same people say nothing about Cameron Green who hasn’t even got the domestic results behind him to get a game for a full strength scorchers side (imo anyway).

That and sticking with Finch so long are the only two selections I don’t really get.

The others have reasonably consistent results over the last 12-14 months. Apart from Nathan Ellis I’m not sure anyone has genuinely put their hand up either.
Green should be playing shield.

He is a complete ****wit. His ego is so far above where it should be but he still thinks he is the player he was 10 years ago and is too used to everyone polishing his knob. I like how being treated like everyone else equals betrayal and disrespect.

Russell Wilson into the Denver Broncos has been a dismal failure so far, they would be close to the lowest scoring side in the NFL.

It's hard work as a supporter watching them labour on offence week after week while at the same time they have a decent defence that helps to keep them in most games in spite of their low scoring, not an un-similar experience to supporting Freo.

It is hilarious.

the off-season sports thread will naturally have posts about other sports, including soccer in it. if you don't care for it, you don't have to reply to it

I realise

As this is an open forum which allows for people opinions I'm giving mine.

I can't take the sport seriously when they clearly aren't injured yet they are crying for a penalties. Barlow breaks his leg in half and tries getting up because he wants to desperately play football.

A lot of the time it is just time wasting- especially if you have been under immense pressure and want to kill the opposition teams momentum. It does get to piss-taking levels at times but it did reach the point a few years ago that refs wouldn't give a foul if the player stayed on their feet even if it should be a foul (especially penalties). So, players took the matter into their own hands but it has gone too far. With VAR in use it has somewhat corrected itself.

You're right, no one ever fakes for a free in Aussie Rules

It should never be an issue

If players did this is NRL or Union they wouldn't booed off the ground and their coaches would drop them immediately

They do

They don't cry and lay down for minutes at a time
There's no interchange, you can't come off and sit on the bench to be assessed by a physio without disadvantaging your team. So you get some studs in your ankle, you go down and have play stopped whilst you're assessed. Is there gamesmanship - yes. And yeah, of course when you have a game like league that is almost entirely based on the physicality of your forward pack, it pales in comparison. But the idea that they're a bunch of sissies playing noncontact is pretty superficial analysis.

Yes I understand the tactics

That last comment we'll my eyes must be lying

Commanders back to 5-5 in the strongest div in the league! Been a good few weeks, with fans finally likely to see the back of the criminal owner and the team to be bought (reportedly) by the guy with the world's deepest pockets.
