Both teams struggled against the ball, Victoria were awful.
No doubt the state selectors won't see themselves as half the problem. F me, Sutherland is not an allrounders a-hole and constantly picking batting failures from previous seasons (Dean).

But huge credit to Neser and Steketee who continually show they should be part of test squads.

One outta the box Nate ? We started the season well. Conditions ?

Neser has to be the next quick off the ranks, as much as I love Jhye Richardson.

During the week I was reading an article where Neser was told prior to the tour of Sri Lanka that he was seen by selectors as a specialist in English conditions due to his style of bowling.. He was also told he would be better served with a county stint there.

I'd have him in the squad of test bowlers, but his role would have to compliment the trio of quicks selected in the 11.

He consistently gets wickets in all states, he's not a grinder like Boland/Hazelwood and at 32, time may be limited.

Jhye at 26 is also time limited but moreso due to successive injuries.

This summer and the 2023 ashes tour MUST see future talent exposed, or risk a prolonged period of limited wins. Even if only one specialist bowler and one specialist batsman.

Currently humid, 5kmh breeze, 24 degrees, rain slowly coming from the far NW.

Heavy isolated storms across the surf coast and the heads currently.

Thanks mate.

Sounds pretty dicey then as to what happens.

I just want to see the Poms get smacked!

All the lead up said it was best batting team v best bowling team, but the difference on the night was that England also had two bowlers play out of their skins. Pakistan had bad luck with injury but didn’t really look like winning with that score.

As some on BF know, I'm rather heavily involved in the cricket landscape here in Tas and for the last few months in particular, I've been helping organise WBBL at "my" club, tomorrow sees all of that hard work come to fruition. For a "community club" (as we are graded here in Tassie), it's been a massive undertaking and fingers crossed, the rain stays away and the wicket plays true and fair (our poor curator has been shitting bricks for 8 weeks).

Tune in on whatever you can and have a look!

From a rain soaked football Grand Final to this in 8 weeks...... curators are amazing!

Great work!

The games far too commercialised . 3 days after some Mickey Mouse 20 20 World Cup we are playing the old enemy in a one Sayed in front of 15,000 people. What happened to the old build up to the Gabba 1st test . I’m not even interested anymore , in any of it

New Zealand play India in a T20 tomorrow. They are just meaningless games that raise revenue through the sale of TV rights. No wonder the players get jaded.
