FORMER Port Adelaide forward Boyd Woodcock is set to audition for a spot on Gold Coast's list via the pre-season supplemental selection period.

The 22-year-old played 12 games across three seasons for the Power before being delisted at the end of 2021.

But after a dominant season for Southport in the VFL, AFL.com.au understands that Woodcock is scheduled to start training with Stuart Dew

Just found out that Johnston came as Cat B rookie. So, assuming Ace is also Cat B we should have now 38 senior list, 6 Cat A and 2 Cat B players.

Cleary could be correct that we still have 4 spots left (Cat A). Wish the club would clarify list concessions.

3 players were already mentioned to train with us and compete for SSP - Anderson, Woodcock, McLaughlin.

Woodcock also had 37 disposals that day as well. Going by the app. Foot had 33 and kicked 3. Dawson had 37

Given Ace was promoted to the rookie list starting 2021-- next year being his 3rd year would be his final rookie year. Would have to promote or delist ahead of 2024.

Why not add him through the rookie draft yesterday though? What's the incentive to do it this way? Perhaps there's concern over his health and potentially getting injured between now and mid-January when we can officially sign him.

Anderson & woodcock will all fight for that 1-2 spots at high half forward/mid.

No doubt that extra pressure will push blokes like Sexton , Macpherson, Davies, Holman, Berry, Flanders & Humphrey a bit more.

We should be looking at a group of 10 blokes who we could interchange as role players anywhere on the field.

Bring maniac pressure all out attack because if you don’t then next man up.

Agree, And I'm pretty sure he has a young family, so can't see him uprooting everything for 1 yr....
