When I was 6 I had Johnny Platten's number 44 on the back of my first Hawks jumper.

My son is 3 in Feb and I desperately wanted Duke to stay in the 44 so history could repeat itself.

That relied on some brainwashing to ensure he loved Newcombe as much as me, but I think it's entirely possible.

Really wish he'd kept it but I understand why he's been given number 3.
