Not a huge fan of that 70's show but that 90's show is a massive downgrade.
It's also kinda funny how things have changed now, then you had adults act as teenagers and now teenagers actually play the part of teenagers. In this instance I'm not really sure on it tbh
Never seen either show...I live under a rock...my niece told me when she came and stayed a few weeks ago and saw my Spotify playlist 🤣

How does it rank compared to 'That 80's Show' ?

To her credit, when I took her to the airport to go home she asked who sing "Joe's Garage", said she wanted to add it to her pl...(hopefully minus Catholic girls and Crew .... 😲)

Mila Kunis was about 15 when she started that 70s show. The others weren't much older than her.

Anecdotally I reckon there’s a few less Aus day revellers that are out in the river this year.

Whether that be due to the light show vs traditional fireworks or the change in sentiment you be the judge

Last year vs this year at a similar time - last years actually earlier. 4862C01E-B01E-4013-A5BD-74C4F9382E70.jpeg

😲 wow...just reading an article about the "invasion day" rallies (mentioned all states capitals bar WA as per)...not sure where I stand on this stuff, all around horrible!
I’m heavily in the change the date camp, knowing what our indigenous members of society went through early days of settlement is atrocious and not even fully disclosed in any education at primary, secondary or tertiary level*. I thought I knew a good idea of it through my history and humanities studies but found out about more of it through two rounds of cultural awareness training at work. Made me feel sick.

*in my opinion. YMMV.

They've been around as long as I can remember but have really taken off over the past decade. We're also seeing some people and companies choose to work today and take their public holiday tomorrow instead.

I’m not sure if this was public knowledge until now. Can’t say I knew that TT was gay nor can I say I was totally surprised to find out

Would have been difficult for him back in his playing days and watching him speak about it, hopefully we aren’t far away from a player’s sexuality being irrelevant so people like TT aren’t embarrassed to come out

Actually thought it was irrelevant.

Man, a couple of been decades since I've seen TT. A legend of the first couple of Wildcats championships. No shocker about his sexuality, glad to see him comfy in his own skin these days though.

There is still some lingering homophobia in society unfortunately. You only have to look at the hoopla that's caused anytime an organisation dares put a rainbow on their logo on social media and the backlash it gets. Some due to religious reasons, but others are just plain bigoted due to outdated views.

We are getting towards a more tolerant society, but there is still a ways to go.

See, NRL teams.

It hasn't been the same since that twit crashed his plane on the Swan.

FWIW I'm on whatever the indigenous people want wagon. The date means little to me, though would still be nice to celebrate Australia Day whenever that may end up being.

No biggie if it gets moved, I've got no skin in this game. I'm just happy for a day off work TBH.

Perhaps put it sometime around Easter and ANZAC Day, then every few years when the planets align, we get almost a week off of work. Let's do this Australia!

I didn't follow that one, what happened?

In a nutshell
-Cairns announce they are doing a pride round jersey
-Some players say they want to opt out due to religious reasons, Cairns said yep that's fine we won't force anyone to do it
-Players and club start to get a barrage of abuse on social media
-Club pulls out of pride round completely and get flamed for their club statement
-Cairns goes on to lose the game to the Phoenix

If some of the players didn't want to wear the logo, that's fine just roll with it that's their choice. But they were too scared of the public backlash for revealing their true self, which is ironic given what religion had subjected the LGBTQI community to over the years for the same thing.
