I didn’t want Gunston to leave but I don’t think he’s going to be the difference for the Lions unless he’s rediscovered his ability to get separation from an opponent.

Or just as importantly his reliability in front of goal. It seems since he had that iliotibial band injury in 2019 his goal accuracy has never been the same. He went from someone that would almost never miss to missing sitters. I hope he does well for the Lions and I won’t have a problem seeing have success with them. It definitely won’t frustrate me the same way it did with Smith on the Handbaggers.

May seem odd, but my brother moved from Melb to Brisbane 15 yrs ago partly because my sister-in-law had hereditary rheumatoid arthritis (which was exacerbated by the colder southern winters).

Since relocating she has barely had any symptoms due to the different climate (heat/humidity).

If the back issues Jack suffered can also be alleviated this way - he will probably have greater power / flexibility back in his core. That would assist in him finding that lost yard off the mark.

Hawks were well represented at Midsumma today! A group of supporters from Hawks Pride flew the flag for our club and marched today, Bec Goddard was there too! Awesome to see the work that Hawks Pride are doing and so good to see so much brown and gold representation at Pride!

“Former Bombers player and coach James Hird has celebrated his 50th birthday at a party with friends and family that served up 700 meatballs.” How many of said meatballs did Robbo consume?

To think that someone actually gets paid to write this shit and call it a career

Sitting here wondering why on earth North would post this as if it's a highlight

I saw that last night and the comments have absolutely nailed them.

Insane.

In a real game at best that's a free against, consequently a turnover. At worst, as above, it's an intentional head high hit and a suspension.

All that aside, Zurhaar just looks a shite team mate for doing that and walking off like he's hot shit without even looking back or helping him up. Starting to understand why JHF looked for the quickest possible way out.

I know we’re rebuilding and living in a glass house of sorts, but is this not the worst forward line in the comp thats aiming to play finals?

Maybe so, but the Pies kick goals from more players than other teams. They had 12 players kick more than 10 goals in 2022. We had half that.

Having a nice looking front 6 isn’t the key to them scoring.

Having said that, Mihocek is the most underrated key forward in the AFL.

Elliot and Ginnivan are decent small forwards but it's hardly Roughhead/Buddy in terms of key forwards down there (as much as I rate Mihoceks workrate and endeavour).

Shows that these days you can cover a lot of deficiencies if you have a good midfield. Even the Dee's when they won the flag a couple of years ago had a pretty average forward line but an A+ midfield.

Of course a team like Geelong that has a good midfield and a forward line with a Hawkins/Cameron combo has an advantage over the Pies/Dees/Freos of this world.

But end of the day if you don't have a strong midfield you ain't winning s..t so I understand why Sam has gone so hard at drafting a new crop of mids.

Is he really underated?

I think people rate him about right, hes serviceable, but he’s no superstar.

He’s played 102 games and in 82 of those games he’s kicked no more than 2 goals. Having kicked 1 or less in 53 of those games.

Has only kicked 4 goals in a game 12 times, and has never kicked more than that.

Makes you wonder what might have been had they kept Treloar
