He has been charged, that aside - was Patton ever charged with anything? Nope.
Is Roughy still involved in List Management at the Aints?
Problem with a policy is that it opens up the players to false accusations. The AFL really needs a stand down rule that applies for any incidents involving violence and threats.
I guess why clubs are so reluctant to do anything is that the wheels of justice turn very slowly and they don’t want to be punishing someone who may be innocent.
The NRL rule assumes the worst at the beginning.
In TT’s case, the AFL integrity unit has passed the ball to the cops. Not a good sign.
I would hate to be involved in North’s AFLW program at the moment. Be mighty uncomfortable.
Everything reported prior to 3pm yesterday was stuff North knew about in 2022 and that they’d advised the AFL of. Yesterday afternoon another woman came forward, and the new allegations made North reconsider their position. This isn’t a he says she says scenario. The complaints were made by multiple people.
Public opinion is starting to sway against North and now “he is stepping away”.
Sounds like some folks with influence have made their case.

On the football side of things I'm glad we never entertained trading for or picking up players like Thomas, Ladhams and Stack. Players like this can be culture killers and very easily influence other players on the list especially when it is as young as ours. All 3 players I used as examples are talented footballers but at some point you have to draw the line been talent and bing a d*ck head. I know the Swans got pummelled in the GF but I reckon Ladhams let his team down in their march to the finals and who knows what could've been if he was available to play as I'm pretty sure he was suspended all the way up to the GF. D*ck heads like end up costing people their jobs along with their own.Understand that.
It has been spun that the player made the decision to “step away” on his own accord while it smells like the club told him to step away.

Agreed. Sometimes we all need a bit of perspective.North Melbourne president reveals shock health diagnosis: ‘Not wasting any time’

Wow! Not a good week for Sonja and North!
Wishing her a speedy recovery!
From what I remember hearing about him prior to being drafted, he already had attitude problems and there was always the risk they'd never go away - North were too invested through the academy and his obvious talent that they'd never let him slip through.I believe that is why clubs nowadays spend quite a lot of time with draftees to see what they are like. And for most part, they do a good job with sorting out who are the d$&kheads.
There are a few who slip through the cracks and talk a good game.
I don’t understand why some serial offenders aka “good blokes” keep getting free passes.
He has been doing this sort of stuff for quite a while now . Dare say more will start coming out .From what I remember hearing about him prior to being drafted, he already had attitude problems and there was always the risk they'd never go away - North were too invested through the academy and his obvious talent that they'd never let him slip through.
Look at our past three years drafting and apart from the obvious focus on getting size in the midfield I think the other focus has been in getting really great character players into the club.On the football side of things I'm glad we never entertained trading for or picking up players like Thomas, Ladhams and Stack. Agree. Also guys like Day, DGB, McDonald, and even guys like Amon, Meek, Stephens - all appear to be solid characters.Look at our past three years drafting and apart from the obvious focus on getting size in the midfield I think the other focus has been in getting really great character players into the club.
Players like Ward, Mackenzie, Butler, etc all seem to be really good kids from great families. Says to me Sam is aware that to make it in the AFL these days takes a high level of professionalism and dedication.
The club probably also overestimated it’s ability to make it work with high risk players like Garlett in the mid 2010’s and they are taking a very risk adverse approach to drafting those types at the moment (which is the smart move IMHO).
Yep and on top of that I think going after players as reclamation projects (ie Patton) will be a thing of the past which is why I posted what I originally posted. Taking a flyer on players that either have off field issues or injury history is something teams in the premiership window do. If either of those types of players don't pan out it doesn't matter where as if your rebuilding it can cause a whole lot of unneeded drama.Look at our past three years drafting and apart from the obvious focus on getting size in the midfield I think the other focus has been in getting really great character players into the club.

If you go have a look at who his dating it all makes sense, genuine demonLate to the party this is first I’ve heard of Thomas alleged behaviour, but interested to understand whether all people would be stood down from employment in this situation or if it only applies to those in the public eye? I assume the allegations aren’t coming from north employees which would obviously change things.
As tragic as it sounds, Gunston will be the key to a Brisbane flag just like Smith was the key to a Geelong one.

If he stays on the park, he's going to make their forward line the most dangerous in the league by a mile.
