Last year, the excitement trailed off early in the first game, with diabolically poor disposal evident, with Schoenberg the leading contender who couldn't hit the side of a barn. Then Roo had his say.Injuries may play a large part of what unfolds this season, as it does with all teams - if we have a good run with injuries surely we will improve on 2022 - another preseason with Burgess more games into young guys - adding Rankine, a bigger more confident Thriller, Rachelle in better nick, Soligo, Berry and Harry all to add to their games plus no real need to play Murphy McHenry.
And then there is the Fog making the AFL stand up and take notice.
We have more competition for spots now which just makes everyone better.
I'm excited - this may only last until round 3 or 4 but at the moment I'm going with it.
.....It shouldn't be too much to ask for better than that, with the excitement lasting for a couple of games in 2023.
