I think he has been told there is a few blokes in front of him and that he will struggle to get a game so he took an easy way out instead of working his butt off to get in the team
Bullshit

Easy way out? He could have spent the year coasting in the VFL for a paycheck. **** some of you blokes are pathetic.

I think this shows just how taxing our small forward roles are on players. Butler lost his form for us and we were happy to shunt him to st kilda, Rioli dropped off to point the usuals we’re wanting him delisted, others like stack have been tried and found wanting.

I think this is what it ultimately comes down to. Bloody hard position to play requires a lot of effort for a lot of the time little reward, at least individual reward. If your key forward isn't any good then the opposition mark the ball and you have few opportunities, if the key forward is too good he marks the ball and you have even less opportunities.

stupid comment to say it was an easy way out, workin has butt off and doing a hammy may have been one of the contributing factors to his decision, plus discussions on his likelyhood of being a regular gig in 2023 and recent marriage and starting a family.... plus imbecile supporters  criticising him if he got back in the seniors and same ones crying and up him for being good in the 2s and being a good depth but still clogging up the list would have weighed heavily on him
and affected his love and desire to keep 100%.

bloke was on a hiding to nothing so he called time. respect.

10 times i wanted to throttle him over the years but 100 times I wanted to hug him for his deeds. contributed to 3 premierships so well done George.
