Support from Wilson, Lloyd and Hutchinson who collectively know sweet FA about what happens here except for Hutchy who knows we used to have a really good basketball team before he bought it and ****ed it up

Cornes is a peanut

I didn’t say it was good support!!

Cornes may be a peanut but what is he saying that is incorrect… he might be like a broken clock but he has hit the nail on the head and was calling it out long before others recently jumped on board.

Does Cornes deal exclusively in negativity? I don't think I've seen him cover a topic in a positive manner before.

Horne-Francis is about the extent of anything positive

And he is still going with some more support involved this time

Pretty hard to dispute or rebuke any of what that panel is saying.

I think Caro's assessment is the most accurate, our decline is simply "unfathomable".
However, it seems we may finally start seeing change of some sort at the club over the course of the year. Particularly if this level of criticism continues to be aimed at us - which it deserves to be.

Positive hot cakes though 🤌

A recipe for Japanese matcha souffle pancakes came up in my feed (pun intended) the other day. They look like the Reuben Ginbey of flat cakes.

Slightly off topic, but love that Schoey's back involved at the club.
Agreed

Felt last year that there was a bit of resentment from Schofield towards the club - not sure if that was really the case but I did think he was distancing himself at times

Nice to see him back involved especially when he replaces the likes of Gossage

Listening to Back Chat from his first year out there was clearly some ill feelings about the way his career ended, and that carried on into him somewhat overcompensating in his attempts to not be biased.

Appears he's put that behind him the past few months.

Was also playing at Peel with the Freo 2s at the time so that probably contributed.

It's not that unfathomable, the premiership team was a lot better than the sum of it's parts.
Cole, Duggan, Venables, Masten, Vardy, Hutchings and Schofield isn't a list of names to put fear into opposition teams and as soon as we lost whatever it was we had going to bind us together the slide began. We've got a lot of average players who we have to flush out of the system. We have to hope their replacements are better.
Doesn't matter how long Simmo's contract is the Vic media is after blood already one game in. Could be an interesting season and a total bottom out may not be the worst outcome if it leads to change club wide.

That 5th oldest stat is meaningless, as it only looks at averages. We had 3 debutants play on the weekend which is a start. If they were fit, it would be good to see Bazzo, Hough and Culley in too.

1. No , it tells us we should be at or near the pointy end not the embarrassing end.

2. Sure we had three debutants (good) but if fit would Bazzo, Hough and Culley also have been selected? That is, MC would have to drop ‘credits’.

3. And if fit NN and Yeo would have made us even older. And possibly pushed out a debutant.

4. And we bothered to recruit a 27 year old.

Can one of you ‘Credits’ nuffies please name these players that need dropping now?

It’s Andrew Gaff isn’t it?…

It’s Gaff, it’s Kelly, it’s Duggan, it’s Cripps, it’s Darling, it’s Ryan, it’s all of them.

Play the kids.

But Bailey Williams and Jamieson are shit and will never make it so drop them. Exxon too, no point persisting.

And, you’re right, Chesser wasn’t up to it so make him the sub or give him a rest, bring in someone with the experience to run out a game.

But not Kelly. Drop him, play the kids.

Easy.

Yes exactly.

Play the kids, but only the good ones that haven’t yet had the chance to disappoint.

Do at least 3 new ones every game!

Except, only the ones that are ready.

Who gives a shit who it is, we're 2 from 27, it would be nice to just see a message sent by one senior player being dropped.

Gaff, Kelly, Duggan for a start. Simple..

Hurn should never have been allowed to play on ..

Now when you get to play the game of who is going to replace them.

Clark in the mdiddle, West on the wing, h edwards down back and throw McGovern forward and into second ruck if needed

If your answer is Clark and West, then the question is wrong.

No problem with West coming in to play on ball for me. Drop Gaff and put Sheeda on the wing where he can be pretty damaging and sneak forward for his left foot pings.

I thought Gaff was much improved from his pre-season showing. Used the ball well, didn’t just slam it on the boot like he was against Adelaide.

Went at 87% disposal efficiency and was the only player to cover over 15km. And didn’t attend a single centre bounce (I think?) so our number 1 problem of not being able to win a clearance can’t be sheeted home to him.

I’m all for dropping a senior player to make a statement but I don’t think it should be Gaff, based on his performance on the weekend.

Unfortunately we can also include half of our supporters at the moment.
How quickly we forget how successful our club has been compared to other clubs .
What goes up must come down.
It will be character building for us to have a hard rebuild and learn some empathy for other supporters whose teams have not seen a GF for decades.

Every time you hear Simpson talk about debut of our young players he says
Can one of you ‘Credits’ nuffies please name these players that need dropping now?

Sheed!
If you want to make a statement it needs to be Squib Tackler Dom.

Gaff was 19th for score involvements. Using the ball neatly when it is chipping sideways and backwards at good efficiency while achieving nothing is not the way forward.

The official stats have him equal fifth?
