Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Looks like dusty, from Bendigo, compares himself a bit too dusty, even more athletic, more dominant in his underage football. I’m not big on player comparisons but it’s a bit of a no brainer atm
I actually think he’s got a bit of David Mundy in him too…hodge / dusty / Mundy had a baby 😂

Just an odd little update on Harley. Up until recently he worked part time in the bistro of the Ky West Hotel, which is one of the more random pubs you’ll find in Vic, situated on the intersection of 4 dairy farms between Echuca and Kyabram, literally in the middle of nowhere.

Unfortunately it burned down last week, so maybe we just offer him a gig at Hawks nest and be done with it?

Is this the thread to discuss MSD options?

It's probably too early to discuss players, but what position(s) would we be looking at?

Would have to be a KPF, right?
You bet it is.

I posted a bunch of speculative talls a page or so back, hopefully we find another Ramsden type who comes from the clouds in the first month. 😬

Is it too late to offer him a spot on Box Hill's list?

I wonder if Jed Rule could bring a chance for us in thr MSD?
Had a fine start for Box Hill and looks to play a neat KPP role.
Would love another big MSD success story or two to really upset the comp.

Some Mid Season draft potentials who may be worth watching over these first couple of months of the year to see if they jump up into calculations.

Felix Fogaty. Greater western Vic, 198cm key forward/ruckman.

Ziggy Toledo-Glassman. Stingrays/Casey VFL, 195cm key forward who has a lot of interest from AFL recruiters. Kicked 14.9 goals in 8 NAB games last year.

Clay Tucker, 204cm ruck from Eastern Ranges, also signed at Box Hill this year.

Joziah Nannup, Stingrays, Indigenous player with electric speed and a big leap.

Matthew Aldous, Eastern Ranges, 191cm forward.

Tom Stern. Gippsland Power, 191cm forward. Concentrated on school last year.

Brady Wright, Rebels/Geelong VFL, 190cm forward.
Ziggy it is then

For mine Harley Reid plays a lot like Brett Deledio as a 17 yr old - just on steriods! Remembering also that Deledio was the standout number one pick amongst a top 5 of Roughead, Franklin, Tambling and Ryan Griifin

Reid is hard at it and has a bit of you know what in him.
Not sure Lids had much of the above.

As doninant as he has been as a junior there are never any guarantees it will translate to the highest level.

But if it does he is the Dusty/Petracca clubs dream of.
He's more Dusty I reckon. Has that pure aggression in his game. Has the belief of Hodge. He's the total package.

Has a bit of character about him too

"Q: You’ve got a fairly stacked highlight reel already, what has been your favourite so far?

A: I took a good mark on Charlie Barnett at training on Thursday, he wasn’t too happy with that. In the moment I’d probably have to choose the Vic Metro one (against Lewis Hayes in the goalsquare) because in the moment that felt good. But that Tassie one (see below), you probably can’t go past a hanger.

Q: Who would you select with pick one in this year’s draft?

A: I’ll go with ‘Watto’ (Nick Watson). He’ll love that, he’ll love the attention."

From Leading prospect Reid leaves nothing to chance

Agreed I don’t see lids, but people forget Brett Deledio was a bloody good player. Played in one of the worst teams in recent memory for his whole career, very difficult gig.

until he chose to leave of course in 2016…that must be a tough thing to move on from if any players deserved success and didn’t get it I would have Richo and Lids very high up…

Q: Are there any players you mould your game on?

A: I’d say I wouldn’t really compare, but I like to take stuff off a few players like ‘Dusty’ (Dustin Martin) and (Christian) Petracca. Kind of the same role as them, but I like to really justify myself as being my own player and turning myself into something special.

Not enough of this attitude out there.
Really big fan of that mindset.
