There was a clear difference. You see Franklin ran in a straight line to the ball with Collins turning his head into the path Franklin was running. Duncan planted the front foot and braced moving in the direction of Fox when he did so, so you see, Franklin's was clearly unavoidable but Duncan's was not.

From the point at which both players realise there is going to be a collision there is literally .1 of a second difference (Franklin with less time to react). Franklin did not move off his line to as he braced, Duncan turns approximately 45 degrees to ensure he bumps Fox flush rather than continuing along the line he was moving.
