… and just when they think they can’t take anymore, we are going to reach for the second stick and give it to them.

It’s going to be a stick-fest! Carlton will wish they never turned up.

The perfect game for us at this stage of the season. Coming off good wins with no expectation to win big or even win at all, externally. A couple of injuries will stress test our gameplan/system as well as provide a check on the quality of our depth.

Intrigued but not concerned with which way the committee goes in regards to injury replacements and selection overall. The result of this match will show us what boxes we have checked so far and what we still have to work on.

A great opportunity to quieten the overexuberant Blues mob.

Lions with too much firepower to win by four goals.

So those of us with Melbourne memberships who get a GA ticket - will we get a seat? Tried to ring the Melbourne office today to see if we have an allocated bay for Melb members but their phone kept cutting out and match day info not up as yet on the website.
Interesting question, we all have vic based memberships and are just rolling up with our membership and not pre booking a seat. We will just stroll up to level 4 and grab a seat. If it is classified as a sell out how do they know how many of the members will turn up if we have not needed to pre book a seat with our membership.

Hey there old Royboy,
I’m not sure, but the current arrangement is strange. I have an adult membership for me and junior membership for little KZ and last night I was able to secure barcodes for two GA seats via the Club App. The thing is that the two seats are allocated to different parts of the ground. Last year I rang the club about this, because obviously I’m not going to plonk an 11 year old in a seat and wander off to sit somewhere else. The response was that they had to allocate a seat to abide by some, either Victorian law or preference that the ticketing company has, but once you are inside you can sit anywhere, which for me means Level 3 Aisle 12, with my son next to me. For this “system” to work, they obviously keep track in real time how many members are digitally claiming their entrance right online and adjust the number of GA seats available to members accordingly. They must also have figured on Lions and Blues supporters who are entitled to a seat claiming one between now and Friday night, hence the claim that it is a sellout.

PS - I wouldn’t just roll up. Generate the barcode for your ticket via the App.

Lions to win by 2 or 3 goals having controlled the mid field and created room for the forwards. The big Carlton forwards will kick 2 each and Curnow will be lauded in the press as the most valuable player on the ground. Cripps will get 28 touches, Neal 32, Dunkley and Ashcroft 31 touches each but Cripps will get the votes. The, Round So Far, on the AFL site Saturday night will only just mention the match and talk about Curnow's 2 goals and how many he has for the season and talk about Cripps dominance and a mid-field bull. Come Monday, even with Browny on the couch again there will be scant mention of it all, the fact that charlie kicked 5 goals it will just be about Curlew's charge in the column medal and if he can pick 100 in the season. Like when we beat Collingwood it will be like the match wasn't even played.

I'm happy with that, in the season it's just the points that matter, not how we got them or how the Media lives in the Melbourne team's butts.

Yes will be interesting - got my barcodes yesterday via the Ticketmaster app- my ga ticket for this game and for the dogs is supposedly level 3 section 10. For the dogs game sat on Level 1 in Ga Area. Hopefully the club has managed to get an area again for lions supporters to gather.

If not, go to Level 3 Aisle 12 and look for a guy with a raffish Over 50’s Clique charm and Fitzroy beanie on. It will be me. Feel free to say g’day. My mission is to turn Level 3 Aisle 12 into the Unofficial Official place for Lions supporters, especially of the Fitzroy persuasion to be.

Speaking of Fitzroy, we are at home on Saturday against Old Trinity, my former school. Go Roys! Stick it up those bourgeois pretty boys.

Then they will get the premiership quarter stick.

Those references have gone over my head 3KZ, I don't like missing out on the joke.

I think that Carlton tend to invite the pressure through the middle of the ground with the way they play so as long as our midfield and forward pressure is up I definitely think we can slow their ball movement down and their talls will struggle if we can.
Starce would probably be a pretty good match up on Silvagni so Lester could probably play as the interceptor if we have Payne and Harris on Curnow and McKay.
Lions by lots with a statement win away from home

I absolutely dispute this arrogant, smug delusional football club. The only time they have been relevant in god knows how long they were cheating, yet they still strut around like they important. I hate the fact Voss went there, we could win by 400 points and Carlton supporters would come up with some bullshit about how they were hard done by. Them missing the finals by losing the last two games was the highlight of the football decade for me. There is nothing likeable about them, the game I want to win more than any other every year.
I'd said with confidence they wouldn't make the 8 all year last year and with a little luck I was right. How sweet it was.

I might try and wander round to 12 this game (normally sit on the other side) as I might be flying solo to this game. My partner and son were going to come but didnt realise it would sell out, should have looked earlier.

im glad we were off against freo and won that game. Some times you are off and others on. Get a feeling this is the game we turn up to.
On KickOns today Cam Rayner was saying there is still talk around the league that we have yet to fully prove ourselves away from home, I think you're right, we will be fired up for this one.

Note- Big O was on the Podcast, he's a funny guy.
