If they don't want to come to Carlton, it'd be because they'd rather stay in Adelaide. But the chances of both getting drafted by a SA team is very slim. And worse, they could end up with something like one at Gold Coast, and the other at Freo. The only certain way of ending up at the one club, or even in the one city, is to go to Carlton. And although Scott's departure from the Blues may have been acrimonious, I'm sure he'd much rather see them at his old club than at separate sides of the country.
He seemed pretty good at the HoF introduction, The kids have also been to Carltons F/S events in the past, so I doubt there'd be much, if any, bad blood remaining.

Nominating the Blues gives them a guarantee that they get to play together and are picked by a big club.

Nominating the draft puts them at the mercy of 17 other clubs

Sure, but maybe that's what they want, in which case it's not a risk.

I think both will nominate Carlton BTW. There was bad blood between their father and the club when he left for Essendon, but I believe that relationship has since mended.

And from memory they spent time at the club in a recent off-season.

Who knows what will happen, I’m making an assumption on what I think is likely. I still remember the Ben Silvagni father son thread and people suggesting we needed to trade our future first rounder because it would get absorbed by picking up Ben, still lots to play out.

Of course, but both are far more advanced than Ben ever was.

Almost as good as the 'Worpel looks a lock for #1 pick' during his underage year...

Ben was talked up because we'd heard from U12's that he was "the more talented player". Then he got hidden away in the school leagues, and we all thought it was SOS pulling a swifty on the rest of the comp.

Seems the Campo boys are actually performing at a decent level of play. Doesn't mean they'll be elite talents long term, but they've shown more to date than BSOS ever did.

Of course I meant 'wouldn't be surprised' rather than 'would' but to answer your question, I never said it wasn't what they should be doing. The Camporeale twins are small-framed juniors and for all their future potential, they still play like it at the moment. I'm guessing most of the under-aged kids picked are already more physically developed types.

Do they?

How much have you seen of them?

He has actually sorted things out with the club and is welcomed back with open arms.

They were at the last F/S academy event. There didn't seem to be acrimony.

I was guilty of that. He looked brilliant in his underage year and still looked very good in his draft year.

Not for the first time this season, neither of the Camporeale boys featured for Glenelg over the weekend, at any level.

I wonder what's going on with them. Anyone know?
We're hiding them in a Japanese exchange program until December 2024

Players who are in state squads are limited in the total number of games they can play across all competitions in a calendar year. It’s policed very closely.
Therefore not unusual for the better ones to miss club games and choose to play for school or squad etc.

Patience grasshopper

It will be worth it

Collingwood's best 2 players are father/son selections. It would be nice to have a big score from this avenue.
