Has a different feel to the year than 2014/2020.
2014- Had to outwork the opposition by running harder - found out we couldn't keep on being 10-15% better than the oppo when Hawthorn forwards were kicking goals out of their dick.
2020 - Had to outwork the opposition by being tougher - found out that we couldn't keep teams out indefinitely. Hardly looked like losing a game until we had no answer for Dustin Martin and watched Nankervis sit back and mark everything.
2023 - Seems to be a genuine gameplan and structure. Have speed and skills moving the ball into the f50 that we haven't previously and have a gameplay that utilises these skills. Have beaten teams when we weren't the better side (at least on the stat sheet) which has rarely happened under hinkley. Hinkley outcoached Lion. We've beaten teams this year when we've been mugged by the umpires. We beat a top 4 time tonight despite kicking poorly. Doesn't count for anything if we don't back it up in September, but watching ordinary players like Mcentee and Francis Evans come in and play system football is what the best sides do. Worst case scenario, it is an entertaining end to the Hinkley era and we **** North's Pick from the JHF trade.

when you think about it...
we've won 9 in a row, second on the ladder..
while basically having no ruck or the worst ruck in the comp, injuries to all 3 of who you'd think were our primary key forwards, and a captain who is barely good enough to get a game in the SANFL, while getting utterly screwed by the umpires.
it makes no sense, is everyone else just really bad?

yep, if we happen to make it to a prelim i'll be shitting my daks.
guys like rozee, butters and jhf don't have the same fear of choking that boak and wines do (IMO)... at key moments those guys missed the real "team lifter" goals. i have more faith in the new breed
