We don't have a list spot.

Vast majority of players in MSD will be on 18 month deals so it means we lose a pick we could have taken in November, when obviously the talent is higher.
Apparently none of the players who nominated named terms so I’m guessing that means no 18 month contracts.

And we don’t have a list spot because we grabbed a bloke whose likely contribution for the year is half game as a sub.

He's bloody lucky to get away with just one match.

If the AFL had any integrity, they would look at the 'potential to cause injury' here, and would have rated it as intentional, high contact, severe impact. Potential to cause blindness from a deliberate dog act - that he missed Pedlar's eye is just luck.

Surely Taylor listed as 9 weeks can go on LTI, his year might as well be done. Especially given his injury is foot related. If we don't select somebody it's got nothing to do with lack of a spot.
Several of the coaches have said they are hopeful both Zac and Andy will be back late in the season and available for SANFL finals. You would think Burgess and his crew would have had input into that decision and given where our pick would have been in the MSD the better players available would have been gone anyhow.

Must be just thinking of the 27, for some reason I thought higher. Long ago now.

Wow, Jonas has been dropped.

When's the last time a team dropped their captain?
Whilst unusual not surprising as his form has been poor.

Last season in the AFL you would suspect.

SANFL finals definitely worth rushing kids back for.

You guess wrong.. the top 3 taken all nominated 18 month contracts.

Ryan Maric - Pick 1 - 18 months

Robert Hansen Jr - Pick 2 - 18 months

Clay Tucker - Pick 3 - 18months

The coaching panel and fitness crew must think so and I suspect the thought process behind it gives the players extra impetus to attack their rehab seriously.

Looking like Pies Craig McRae doesn't rate Josh Carmichael any more than he rated Caleb Poulter despite Carmichael posting tidy VFL numbers? Ball use?

Can't even make the Pies emergencies with midfielders Finlay Macrae, Trent Bianco and 1st year player Edward Allan all preferred?

In other round 12 team news, Gold Coast youngster Mac Andrew has copped a second club suspension inside six months and will miss playing Adelaide on Saturday night.
Andrew has fallen foul of a club-imposed sanction for the second time inside six months, following a drink-driving misdemeanour in December.

"Mac missed a recovery session on Sunday morning after the game against the Western Bulldogs, and while this, in isolation, is not a major issue, we believe Mac needs to understand the demands of playing AFL football," Suns general manager of football performance Wayne Campbell said.

"Mac is a valued member of our football club. He has taken steps forward in learning what it takes to be an AFL footballer and we will continue to support and guide him through this." He has been replaced in Gold Coast's 22 to face Adelaide in Darwin on Saturday night by Jy Farrar.
