I was learning about the term 'spursy' - The adjective "Spursy", and its derived noun "Spursiness", denotes a certain fragility in the team that consistently fail to live up to expectations and crumble within sight of victory.

The 8 hour 5 day work week was fine when women were basically indentured servants who cooked and cleaned and ran the house. You could come home from work, indulge in mild alcoholism and domestic abuse then put your feet up.
On a basic salary you could afford a house, model t Ford and half a dozen kids.
These days to put a roof over your head on a basic salary you need two incomes, and someone still needs to do all the domestic work. And most people can't afford kids.

Also Ford was a malicious psycho and ignorant cretin who “announced” the five day work week as the USA’s most prominent employer thanks to the work of unions who actually made it happen.
On a lighter note
As an 18yr old I decided to hitch up the East Coast with a mate. When we got to Sydney we just had to
go to Kings Cross at night of course, back then The Cross was a dirty seedy place best suited to neon lights
and darkness. Anyway ambling along the footpath we lingered outside some strip joint and the spruiker says
"first time to the Cross boys" before we could answer he says "come inside and see the one 'n' only

That part of the Parklands proposed is a vacant, unused, ugly, desolate shit hole. It would have been perfect for the Police Horses to use. Nobody actually goes there or uses it.
Secondly, that prime bit of realestate behind the Spreme Court that has been inexplicably vacant forever is now being used effectively as a horse stable.

Sometimes I think I would take the four day work week and hit to the hip pocket, but no longer in a post covid inflation world is that feasible.
