Call me old fashioned but I would have liked to give a SA kid that has actually proven himself in a decent completion like the SANFL ie Tom Lewis, Kobe Ryan or Phoenix Hargreaves, anyone can dominate park footy

Mehh, in all likely hood he is a Wagner or Flynn. If the three you listed were actually any good off field 1 of 17 other clubs would have extended the opportunity.

Since when were games won off the field, what message is it sending to South Australia kids, train and achieve all you like but in the end you will miss out in favour of a lottery ticket

Lai is a good prospect. His pace is great and his skills are probably superior to our other wingers. He'll need some time to get up to AFL game pace but he's not looked out of place in match sim. Had he not been taken he would have had to return to fulfill his contract with the Richmond reserves team. Watkins is a unlucky but he's committed to play with Port Magpies and will be an option for the mid-season draft if Todd Marshall or someone else is unavailable in the second half of the year.

I just want the talent that is most likely to succeed at AFL level and make us a better team in the short, middle or longterm. If Lai is that player, I don't care that he's had less senior exposure than a mid-aged state level player or the fact he's from Victoria and not SA.

Not really, Mitch is a great player who as the year went on showed alot of zip.

I personally hate the out the back run into open goal game.plan. it's a blight of AFL

Flynn would've been a good AFL player IMO he just couldn't conquer home sickness, Wagner was an absolute potato.
