Has she got a lot right about WCE over the journey? I’m not sure she focuses on us and cultivates inside sources quite as closely as she would with Essendon and Richmond. Saying NicNat and Yeo have been in poor form is a good indication.

It feels very much like an ongoing topic in media circles is sacking either Simpson or Nisbett at West Coast, the topic’s come up on her show and she’s decided to throw out there that they’ll both be gone. Good for headlines, maybe she’ll be proved right, I doubt it, but it happens is she looks like a genius and if she doesn’t she can just say things changed or she had bad intel or it just didn’t pan out.

I guess I just question the fact she’s got inside intel that Nisbett and Simpson are both in the gun because (a) I think it’s unlikely and (b) I don’t trust her.

I personally dont think she just makes shit up...but you are only as good as your sources and as you said, she probably doesnt have the greatest sources when it comes to the interstate clubs.

I also think she gets fed a lot of stuff directly from AFL House (not saying this is the case in this instance)

Havent watched Footy Classified for years but back in the day, even when the Eagles and Dockers were going well, it was amazing how little coverage we got..unless it was dragging up decade old partyboy drug shit or Ross getting handsy with the help.

Correct. On the other hand you nearly have to admire the club for staring down the media, saying fu we'll do it our way.
Mind you if they get it wrong it'll be a decade at least before we are relevent again

I think it'd be a huge win for the club if Barrass left personally.

Any supporter with half a brain should understand we'd be potentially getting suitable compensation in a high draft pick (which could be Curtin) who might set us up and play for the club for 10-13 years.

Whilst Barrass has won a flag already, gets bags kicked on him in a defense under siege, is part of a basket case club and won't be tasting any form of success for West Coast for the remainder of his footy career. Every reason to leave.

“Making up” was probably too strong. But there’s a long history of Caro and other footy journos just saying/predicting stuff, leaning on stuff they’ve been told by “sources they trust” or whatever they like, without any real regard for whether it’s factual. If it comes off they can trumpet it as a success and proof they’re the best in the industry, if it doesn’t no one’s going to remember what she said on the July 24 episode of FC.

So you can't name anything false that she has printed about the club. Can't back up what you claimed and now you are now backtracking.

You have no problem with them saying whatever they like unless it is something you don't like and don't want to be true, in which case it is deemed to be "all just made up".

The Barrass rumours started 2 months ago in the eastern states. It is only in the last few weeks the media here has really focussed on the likelihood of him going. And even with the tweet you posted they are mentioning the possibility of him going but playing it down and implying it is more unlikely than likely when the eastern states media are saying it is a done deal and he is as good as gone. The clubs don't like and don't want the local media reporting players are going before the end of the season in case you get the ugly scenes of a player being booed by their own fans. They are keeping the local club happy but not focussing on the story and implying it is unlikely when they do focus on it.
