Just a ridiculous decision on both the club and players part. His performances will continue declining next year to the point it's embarrassing and he won't even have a good send off like he could have had this week.

I feel absolutely 0 excitement about this and some serious questions need to be asked.

Purely a financial decision. Hungry Jacks needs someone for their poster (with Doedee possibly leaving) and Sloane being resigned will add another 5k happy clappers at the ground. I still think he will hardly be played next year anyway but it's a ridiculous decision.

Sloane likely has friends in high places after being at the club for 15 years. It's also could have been a clause in walkers deal to give his cooked mate an extra super bump.

This would be a terrible outcome. Not so much Doedee who we have cover for, but Crouch in the middle has been a big winner the past few weeks, and McAdam has made us look much more dangerous.

I guess if McAdam goes out it opens up a spot for Gollant.

They have EXTENDED his current contract for another year.. his current contract is at around $800k a year is it not..

They said nothing about him signing a whole new contract for next year

So… How are you so certain that you are right and I’m wrong?..

You can only assume that one or two of Crouch, Doedee or Mcadam have already informed the club that they are planning on leaving. Otherwise we will need to delist or trade someone we don't want to to free up a list spot to keep Sloane. I know it seems like our list managers have no idea at times, but surely they wouldn't make this call without knowing who they are keeping and who is leaving and then potentially having to cut someone they want to keep as a result. Time will tell I guess when the final list changes are announced.

I think it's more that what's done is done. There's no need to tear the player down for not wanting to retire.
