You can rate Essendon but they’ve packed up for the year firstly and secondly half their team has been withdrawn “injured”. It’s a glorified vfl team.
Even so I reckon they'll unpack when they realise it's us they are playing. The evener upper will be the missing players from both sides.

How? We're playing three tall forwards which is our norm. Cox into the 22. Only way he'd fit in is as sub.
Reef has had very good vfl form and kicking goals
I don’t see him as playing as a tall forward rather medium forward
Howe back would have made reef ideal even if Cox forward

Yes. Circumspection. It would be terrible if we voiced an opinion that turned out to be wrong.
Besides, there are bandwagons to be leapt on and off, and you don't want to be too slow in your movements or you'll either miss a seat or be the only one aboard as it veers off track and crashes.

A few people playing for a finals spot tonight , especially if no injuries and McCreery Daicos Moore and Murphy are all back for week 1

I have 19 locked in - Maynard Moore IQ N Daicos Murphy Howe Sidey Titch J Daicos Hill McStay Adams McCreery Checkers Elliott Cox JDG Crisp and Noble

Then one of Cameron or Frampton plays - depending if we want Howe forward.
Then 2 more spots plus sub role left for likes of WHE Lippa Ginny Markov and co to fight out for. If we use Nick at half back Oleg might miss

Let ‘s be a little circumspect -
people wanted Murphy delisted before he proved himself.
It was a weird one with Murph, different situation to Fin.

Murphy before breaking through last year was a lot like Kreuger - couldn’t get on the park and everyone had written him off as too reckless and injury prone. He’s always looked to have potential I think, many just went early on him due to his injury record.

Fin the first player to wear a glove at afl level for the pies since Cloke? Or has there been someone else?

It's a good point, rather than the opinion circumspection that No SPIN is advocating, we need to be show more bandwagon circumspection.

Finn's playing tonight - the Finn sux bandwagon may not have a seat left in it by the end of the night. The circumspect move is to play it safe and slag him off now. You'd think that Spinny would have more bandwagon awareness after being stuck in the Grundy bandwagon well after it had gone off the cliff and smashed into tiny pieces.

This except I’d word one sentence slightly differently .

Then one of Cameron or Frampton plays - depending on who we value most of those two, Howe will play either forward or back and plug whatever gap is needed most.

We don't need to win by 40 though. If we get up by 4-5 goals I doubt we keep pushing on too hard.
Not so much what we win by - if we keep them sub 70 points , win the minor premiership and get no injuries or suspensions it will be a very successful evening

It would be very us for Tippa to kick 8 in his farewell.

Hopefully this game can be a proper tuneup for September - you can’t just ‘flick a switch’ unless you are an all time team, which 2023 Collingwood is not.

We don’t exactly need to ‘flick a switch’

Up to round 19 our form was fine and as recently as 2 weeks ago against Geelong , our 2nd and 3rd quarters were at the standard required.

If Tippa has 8 touches then we pack it in for the year.

The whole flick a switch thing is a load of rubbish anyway.

Everyone else is playing checkers, Fly is playing chess.

Deadset if we don't win by 40+ it's a concern.

Between a few of our outs, the fact that Top 2 is locked in and we appear to be waiting for finals, combined with Essendon no doubt coming out hard to make up for last week, let’s just take the win and not get too hung up on margins

We’re not playing very well at the moment and just need to worry about winning leading into the bye to take some confidence going in

Yeah, thats right.
Q stick, then Cloke. But nobody 5 or so years.
Kreuger is wearing one in the vfl.. I can't even remember why, but he has yet to play in the AFL wearing it.
Kreuger should wear as much protection as possible. Probably needs to invest in helmet, glasses, shoulder pads, a frog - maybe he just purchases an NFL space suit?

Tippa is the sub.
He had 14 touches and no goals in the VFL last week against coburg (a team that lost 18 of 18 matches, finished dead last with a % of 55.8)

He will get a roar when he comes on but don't expect too much from him.

He hasn’t done much in the twos over the last few weeks so hoping he’s not going to be any different tonight.
