Oleg Markov one of the all time great stories - delisted by the Suns in 2022, Collingwood Premiership player 2023.
Keep smiling Leggy!

Yeah lots of peeps down on Framo but FMD he stepped into the breach in our hour of need and did the job required of him and all from a literally hail mary pick.
If Andrews had taken his usual complement of intercepts, we would have lost.
Big Bad Billy did enough to stop Andrews getting a hold of the game, so he did his bit.

Mason Cox in that last quarter was absolutely unbelievable. Dominated his position. The pic of him with the USA flag after the game had me look twice, but it’s his day, he can do what he likes.

Wait…people thought we had the rub of the green?

Fu**ing looooooooooooooool
Opposition supporters are loons. The Lions had the rub of the green all day.It was only the umpiring and our bad kicking that made the game as close as it was.It should have been a much easier win.

Just imagine if in 2021 we'd decided to go and do a full rebuild.

Pendlebury, Sidebottom, De Goey, Howe, Cox, Hoskin-Elliott would not have been playing today and we'd likely have finished up in the bottom four (again).

So much more to list management than a full rebuild.

It took the coach who was the right fit for the job, not the name and some belief to get those boys over the line. Those boys were thrilled today and played like we were the best.

At the time I thought we didn’t need a full rebuild. Just a mini one that I thought might involve moving Sidebottom as he was getting older but had potential for good currency like a late 1st or early 2nd.

So glad we didn’t. That goal from outside 50 should go down as an all time GF moment and replayed as much as the Sheed goal.

Could just be me; but when Darce brought up past players I immediately thought of Heritier.

I hope this is a moment that brings all collingwood people together through love.
Thorold Merrett's 90th birthday, and him now not being the only living dual Collingwood Premiership player.
Darcy Moore's 150th a game to remember.
Fly's newborn daughter
WHE doing what his great great grandfather did in 1910.
Jordy's redemption.
Peter Moore's 5 Grand Finals without a win.

So many stories, and so many more to be told.

What a great day!

Sidey needed a breath of fresh air to come back and play like that.

Yep. Sure, Billy had no impact himself, but did Andrews have his usual impact. No way. Andrews had little direct impact, which means Billy did his job, role played.

Thorold Merrett also loses his crown as the only living Collingwood premiership player nicknamed Titch.

I'm glad Fly sees this as more special. I feel like he was never heralded enough at the Lions but that will change after today. Changed a club for the better.

WHE deserved his premiership today. One that tried so hard and never gave up. Proud of him. What's funny is his relation won two flags for Fitzroy. There's something in that.

Agree. Those who were bashing Mitchell second half of the year clearly forgot how bloody frustrating it was to watch us get belted out of clearances last year.

Mitchell’s ability to win in and under and also manage the clock at stoppages at the end of games without giving away free kicks is vital to our control game
And also played a great defensive game on Lachie Neale. 13 tackles, Neale no influence on the game
