I don't recall the 58 and 60 Grand Finals but I've bled through all the others.
64, 66,70, 77&77, 79, 80, 81, 90, 02, 03, 10&10, 18 and now 23.
This week I was oddly, anxiety free. It always felt right despite any Lions score I knew we'd dash, bash and crash the ball forward and score when we needed it. Great day - Go Pies
1964 we lost by 4 Points
2023 we won by 4 Points

Do you reckon Lachie Neale would swap his medal for Nick's?

Of course he would, he already has a pair (and should have won last year’s too)!

How was the crowd noise. Were the cheers for the Pies much louder or was it 50/50?

We were louder but surprisingly, not by a lot. It wasn’t at all like the Prelim.

The 'expected score' must have had us 67 point victors.

Didn’t you hear? Brisbane should have won but didn’t, because of that time they were paid a free kick.

I can’t believe they think they got a raw deal. They received 22 free kicks to our 16 and I thought the umps favoured the Lions in general.

How’s about Gardiner (?) ramming a player with his head and getting a free for it? Howler!

Also, Daniher gave a two handed shove resulting in a goal that Finlayson would have been proud of!

what's worse than losing a Final in 2002 by 9 points? probably getting flogged in 2003 by 54 by the same team...

then in 2018 you lose a grand final with 2 minutes to go by 5 points.....

you hate football for 18 months but you have to stick with the team you love, but * it hurts, it hurts so bad

you then lose a prelim in 2022 by a point.it still ******* hurts. but when you love your team, and they finally beat the team that flogged them so badly 20+ years ago, there is no better feeling......

I remember sitting at the Jolimont train station waiting to go home back to Keon park in Sept 2002, listening to the same brisbane song getting played over and over and over and waiting for the train in 2002 with my Collingwood Brethren all in silence, hating life.

today makes it all worth it

Go Pies

2002 was the ****ing worst. We were the better team that day. Not on paper, but on the green grass of the MCG we were better.

Just got home from the game, this day was absolutely flipping perfect!
Great seats right next to the umpires race on the fence, got hand slaps from all the boys as they went round on the victory lap, got a hug from Josh Daicos and got to spend the win with my eldest boy. Even had relo's and friends text me to say they saw me on the teev lol.

Caught the last 5 minutes of the replay on FOX from Jordy's goal onwards.

As for Rockliff, Richo and a few other fkwits carrying on about the Neale play-on decision, where were your protests when he was getting Brownlow votes for shit games?

Love my team

still my fave team of all time, lacked talent but just oozed teamwork

I even miss Shane O'bree and his helicopter kicks

Particularly pleased for Sidey. Was just a kid for the 1st and has admitted he was too young to really appreciate. He will appreciate this one.

His and Degeoyes clutch imgoals were massive.

Steele was never missing that.

In particular the first minutes of the last qtr.

Headed with 5 minutes to go and still won. Won our 3 finals by 2 goals in total.

Great effort Pies.
Finally won a close one.

Go Pies. Love the Club.

714 is all the margin we had. But I’ll ****in’ take it!
