As the trade period comes to a little ending for us

I generally have good info on stuff happening at dogs and vfl stuff

but for long-term users of this site, know i like to have a little fun ala Robin Nahas to Dogs

Happy to say, that this Billings to Dogs was my favourite attempt

Exactly. We don't "hard tag" in a Finn Maginness way, but we certainly have and will continue to "run with". Dunkley used to do it, Libba has done, hell, they've even done it with success with Caleb.

Harmes is essentially the defensive midfielder that we BADLY need post Dunkley.

Then why did we not do it when we were getting absolutely r*ped by multiple midfielders throughout the year? Yes everyone understands we’ve deployed negative roles here and there in the past - but it is not something we really do.

So if sweet is traded as expected do we bring in a replacement back up ruckman? Cupboard is pretty bare if English goes down.
Yes Lobb can ruck but that greatly unsettles team balance and Darcy realistically isnt ready for the rigours of rucking especially if English went down early in season.

We also need to replace a ruck in the VFL. Buku is not a ruckman and the idea of him continuing to do it medium term is sheer lunacy

I don't mean to be a negative nellie, I'll get in trouble from some on the board who only want positivity...

But our 1 trade in is a tagger into a team coached by a bloke who refuses to tag?

For a team that's in the 'window' it's somewhat underwhelming.

Our issues this year had little to do with our list itself. Small incremental improvements (like Harmes replacing one of the bottom players in our 22) are all we really need to be doing from a list management perspective, outside of hitting the draft.

If English is injured we would presumably go with Lobb/Darcy. I assume we’ll draft a break glass in case of emergency option in the rookie draft and/or add one at Footscray that we can pick up in the mid-season draft if needed.
