He basically seems to have had a ponsi scam worth maybe 100 million, alot of well none people likely to lose millions.Saw a snippet on the tube the other night but didn't listen KG.

Look I agree, but it's not exactly a question of accuracy - he has zero technique at all and is obviously extremely uncomfortable with taking set shots even from 20-30m out. He has to be at the least unafraid in those situations. Time to sort it out obviously. Its difficult to be worried about accuracy so early in his career. I'm looking forward to his next few seasons.
My greatest ever football sledge... Trevor Marmalade was hosting John Elliott at the G not long after the merge bid had failed. They were sitting in the AFL members area about 3 rows back from us (obviously, aquainting themselves with the riff-raff). Carlton were threatening to win the game, and I think it was midway through the last quarter, Dorovic was lining up from a gettable distance for a goal that would have put his team ahead. He stubbed the ground and muffed the kick which allowed North to clear and I think we may have even got a rebound goal.Sick of hearing people talking of it as a takeover. It was a merger FFS. The new club would be called the Carlton Blues, wear a navy jersey and play at Princess Park. I can't believe we passed it up tbh.
If Stengle is the dream FA we are in more trouble than we think.
Anyone got the content of the rest of the article? Was just getting to the finale.I thought his name rang a bell - tried to sell off our club . No offence but seems was a shifty prick for a long time

Caught a great interview this evening with Gerard Healy (I know) with Darcy Wilson. Seems Darcy is the nephew (or great nephew or some such) of Michael Nolan. Apparently a BFNAAK as a result of this link to our famous #22. ‘Ready to go in Rd 1’: AFL Draft bolter bulked up 9kg... but he can still ‘run all day’
Thought I'd be formalI doubt that anyone ever called him Michael. Not even his mother.
The same Patrick Smith who thought we were stupid for not taking the money and running to the Gold Coast?Patrick Smith has passed away.

The same Patrick Smith who showed up to face the music. Respect, then and now.Yeah, him. Now I feel bad about chanting "Fatprick's a w***er" at Dallas Brooks Hall.
Oh wait, I actually don't feel bad about that. Not for a second.
Jack Adams (President 1962-65) is the man in the centre of the photo. The man on his right is son John Adams who is alleged to have run the scams. He basically seems to have had a ponsi scam worth maybe 100 million, alot of well none people likely to lose millions.
He was president of North and tried to sell us to Carlton.
I didn't know that I'll be a little more respectful then. The same Patrick Smith who showed up to face the music. Respect, then and now.
Yes he did and I generally enjoyed his banter with KB each morning but he was terrible during the whole Gold Coast saga. His badgering and bullying of our WANM spokesman (Dave?) in an interview on SEN was a disgrace and a low point in his journalistic career. Despite that did have respect for him so RIP PatThe same Patrick Smith who showed up to face the music. Respect, then and now.
You went from Goose to Guus in a matter of a few posts.I didn't know that I'll be a little more respectful then.
Voice of reason. The same Patrick Smith who showed up to face the music. Respect, then and now.
I set that interview up after Smith had espoused some absolute garbage about the relocation. He lost it with Dave who remained calm and on point the whole interview. One of Dave's finest moments.Yes he did and I generally enjoyed his banter with KB each morning but he was terrible during the whole Gold Coast saga. Oh yes Dave was brilliant and in no way deserved the barrage of yelling and interruptions that Smith threw at him that day.I set that interview up after Smith had espoused some absolute garbage about the relocation. I agree with the respect for him showing up at the rally - Caro had said on 3AW she would be there but didn't have the guts to show.
