It's very on-brand for the club to take three weeks to diagnose an ACL, unfortunately

Tarni Evans and Lucy McEvoy were the same, both had about 65 fantasy points to Charlie's 72, plus Charlie was club best and fairest. And they couldn't even put Charlie on the interchange?

For those closer to the trade workings in the AFLW, whats the go here, do we get any compensation for the defection, or must a trade be arranged ?

She’d have to be traded, right?

I suppose if they’re going hard in the trade period, we’ll have a big draft hand.

We are supposedly getting Newton and Brazill as well so I’d say we won’t have too many draft picks to give up.

Just so happens that all of the above also applies to lifelong Eagles supporter Hayley Miller. Therein answers the "what she worth?" question.

Freo wouldn't give up more than a 3rd rounder for Ash Brazill btw.

We need something back. Losing McCarthy and Rowley means our draft picks will not progress us as much as they would have, as they become replacements rather than additions.

I agree about Brazill, the mid 3rd round compo pick Freo got for Cuthbertson seems fair as there are plenty of similarities between the pair.
But you’d presume Newton would be worth a first round pick.
And while there are similarities between Miller and McCarthy, Miller would still be worth considerably more and I’d be surprised if she moved despite not having a good year.

CODE Sports understands Simmons is being circled by both Western Australian AFLW clubs as she weighs up a remarkable cross-code switch to football at the age of 32.

Simmons told teammates of her decision to retire from netball on Friday morning, surprising many in the sport, and it is understood West Coast Eagles are favourites to land her signature if she opts to switch codes.
