They had the $5, then $7 promotional ones but as soon as you made any adjustments that price went out the window. Like the Dominos large pizza deals.yeah i think it is good value. they're one of my faves in the area and are extremely filling. they pack shitloads of meat into it too which is no doubt the most expensive ingredient.
$10 for a high-quality meal is cheap these days no matter what way u look at it. For example Footscray Subway footlongs are $17!!!! For a vastly inferior product.
I've never really experienced cheap eats as an adult so the shock of a $10 baguette is lost on me. Subway at its cheapest in Australia was $10 for a footlong in my memory so it seems about right to me tbh. Maybe they did those $5 promos for a lil while though
In the CBD you can go to get a half baguette for $8 bucks at B3 in Centre Place, were $6 a few years ago - fairly light on for fillings. I'd happily pay $10 for a Banh Mi absolutely stuffed with pork.
I rarely begrudge food prices being higher than expected because honestly speaking they're not high enough. Tiny margins, high chance of failure.
