He's just one of those, this is me, take it or leave it, players. You take the rough with the smooth. If you don't like that, then he doesn't get a game, but the good has well and truly outweighed the bad for the past 4 years.

this is such a copout. the man is capable of growing.

Head made two of the best counter attacking hundreds you'll ever see on very tough pitches in the last home Ashes and ended up player of the series, made a match winning 90 odd on an awful Gabba pitch in a 2 day test v SA, then was player of the match in the WTC final, WC semi final and WC final.

But he's got a few low scores recently so hopefully he changes his entire game style soon.

“... We haven’t been the pushovers like many teams have looked like when they’ve come over here because of how dominant a force India are in their home conditions.”

Yup. I'm sure this'll be the hardest 4-1 result India has ever had to fight for.

Yes but think of how much Bazball is entertaining the fans in attendance as England careen to yet another innings thumping.

Everyone's talking about labs and Carey, but MM has really dropped off.
Like I said in the other cricket thread. Marsh literally played a counter attacking 40 that broke the shackles on Green and freed him up to make his daddy hundred in the last test.

Cricket is a strange game. The combination of individual performance and accolade woven into a team output can provide the most pleasing, and displeasing, of frissons.

That's his only score in his last 3 tests.

He needs to get runs.

If we haven't learned by now to stop the short ball tactics to the tail, I don't know when we will. It's cost us time and time again this summer.

It's not coming from McDonald, he's purely a yes man.

Wouldn't want to lose this, a summer with Test losses against WI and this NZ side on paper? Oof.

If we lose this test I’d put it more down to having one batter pass 30 than poor tail bowling.

Although I agree our bowling to the tail has been a concern for years.

Smiths taken over Shane Watson role as the ridiculous lbw umpire reviewer... he gets hit on the pad, reviews and starts walking before they even start the replay because he knows he is out anyway.
