We put far too much faith in a Darcy Moore intercept or a spoil 75m out from our own goal. If this doesn’t come off we are too exposed inside D50 due to playing an agressive backline, and we’ve been shown up with loose forwards i50 in back to back weeks. Frampton has to come in and play as the anchor behind Moore and the developing Dean.

Reef in for AJ and fitting Noble and Fin in to the starting 22 - are the only other clear changes for me atm. Have a look at a mixture of Howe, Mihocek and Reef i50, with Moore, Dean and Frampton down back.

Not unexpected...AFL went hard at the Pies' scheduling this year.

Elliot has done bugger all so far and had a terrible finals series.

What are the negatives?

I think later in the season when a lot of players are carrying niggles then you want the extra break, right now most of our list should be quite fresh and eager to get back into it. Playing a lot of footy should mean our connection improves and we lose the remainder of our preseason rust.

I don't think I'd bring back Titch yet. Macrae into the guts. Jordy more time forward. Lippa and Twitch - one as sub. One left out.

At this time of year when teams are fit and running on top of the ground. We can't play too many plodders. Give Macrae a chance but leave both Lippa and Twitch out of the 22 - one as sub. Unless you want to leave out one of our 300 gamers, which would make me sad..

I like this but I would keep Howe back, and replace Dean with McInnes from your side. I really like bringing Billy back in, I feel we have looked a little too small behind the ball so far and I think the combination of Frampton/Moore/Howe gives us aerial dominance at that end of the ground.

I think if you have Murphy up and running, that would give us the flexibility to move Howe forward if McInnes also struggles like AJ.

Our backline has been clearly exposed. It is apparent we are really missing Murphy. He was crucial the last two years.

In order for Moore to play well, we absolutely need Murphy to be the stay at home defender, the desperate spoiler, the guy that saves the bacon when Moore is caught out being aggressive.

Howe needs to stay back too as he is a mix of Moore and Murphy, but the onfield backline leader too.

Given our high octane game, our defense was crucial is saving us last year when we turned the ball over. If we don't have that this year it is an obvious area for the opposition to exploit.

Both GWS and the Swans did so easily
