Cotchin got off a report that almost definitely should have cost him 1-2 weeks in the Prelim as well.

No "*" next to us, we were already making finals from 2013 to 2015. The AFL didn't need us to win a flag as our fans had already jumped back on. No co-incidence that our free Kick differential started to dry up after 2015.

BTW never read past your 1st paragraph. I never do.

:tearsofjoy:

Making Finals and winning them are 2 very different things. Ask Essendon.

There was a reason there was a board challenge in 2016. Stop re-imagining history. The Finals of 13-15 were epic failures & Dimma & Benny were saved by Balmey coming on board and supporting them publicly. People need to stop re-imagining history

He hit Shiels head and caused him to leave the game with a concussion. That is high impact/contact. If it was round 12, he would have 100% been suspended. Baker just got 1 week for less:tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

People saying the AFL are riding Carlton to a flag need to look at the ladder. Who is on top? Do you honestly think the AFL would prefer Salray cap cheating Carlton to win the flag over the Giants ? It's the Giants who they would most be happy to win it
There are a heap of unmonetised Carlton supporters that will get on the bandwagon and stay for years if the blues win a flag. That's massive recurring revenue for the AFL with high degree of certainty. The Giants can wait, incremental revenue is much less certain but I do think they'll be the next to rocket up the free kick ladder.

Arsebury got him front on stop trying to revise history

I can see both sides.

On one hand, there is just really no need for it, especially in modern society where gays etc still face discrimination and in a sport where gay players struggle to come out in fear of how their teammates might react (but also probably part because they don't want the media focussing on it).

On the other hand, a slur said in the heat of the momment, and he came out and apologised right after. Personally I wish they would just accept the apology and move on. If he does it again, sure ban and throw the book at him, but I think we can be more forgiving over a one time thing imo.

Pretty childish slur to be using either way as a professional footballer. I grew out of that shit when I was 15. Become more creative in your sledges or stfu

Why would it be so hard for the AFL to just defer all suspensions until Round 1/Opening Round of the next season?

Yep, as Ricky Gervais put it so perfectly... "people evolved to be scared of words"

We now live in a world full of pathetic woke garbage. Cue the outrage!

Words have meaning though.

If you had a disabled kid, would you like someone using the R word around them? TO them? I don't think so.

Its not being scared of words, it's not wanting them used when the meaning of those words and the harm they can cause to others is well known by the people using them...
