On Saturday Johnathan Brown kept mentioning it was a short term stint and he’d be back in defence once we got some troops back, it annoyed me.
Agree.

While Weiters, Saad, Newman, McG, Kemp, Cowan and Boyd keep building as a defensive unit, why wouldn’t we keep playing Williams on the forward line?

Looked dangerous around the contest, and that last goal he kicked was a beauty….even the clip around the head from a defender didn’t put him off.

I don’t take too much stock in any
football analysis Jonathon Brown provides which I’d generously describe as superficial. Most of us would know more about our team make up, strength and weaknesses than he would.

Actually don’t mind Brown. He doesn’t try to be too technical in his analysis, generally tells it how it is as footy is a pretty simple game. But I’m confident Williams will be a forward half player for the foreseeable future. He is a part of our best forward mix at full strength imo.

Browny is similar and or part of the media clickbait. While he had a reasonable point, he only offered up one way traffic to strengthen his opinion
I find him reactive and not insightful, and very shallow in his ‘analysis’. He rarely makes me ponder about anything he says. I don’t dislike him, just indifferent to his thoughts on football.

Brown and King don't usually annoy me that much however...

That commentary on last weeks game was un-listenable. It was like they had a mental block and couldn't get past the fact that Mac Andrew was playing quite well. Literally every time there was a pause in play "Mac Andrew... blah blah blah".

Then Curnow tore him a new one and David King chimes in "Well most of his goals weren't on Mac Andrew..." despite that being blatantly false. At least 3 of Curnow's 4 goals were with him as the direct opponent and Charlie missed another sitter.

There were at least 3 obvious free kicks I can remember not being paid against Andrew and they also called play on when Charlie took a mark. He kicked the goal anyway but still... none of this suited the narrative the commentators had attached themselves to in the first 5 minutes so it was ignored.

Not sure when the vfl game is scheduled.

But it’s just what I heard, so will see what transpires. Maybe Gov is a late out but I haven’t heard that at this point.
VFL Sunday so time to ride a bike back if needed
Beauty. Understand the caution taking him but he desperately needs game time. Nice. Seems like he'll play at one level atleast

Port turn 35% of their kick ins to an inside 50. At the top of the table. We are sitting on 21%, in the bottom third of teams.

Might be something to look out for.

Looks like a useless stat when you see the top 8 teams in the comp with the vast majority in the bottom half of this ladder.
