Hahahaha take that Linton St Rabble! 😂😂😂

I love our leaders.

I also love that although we hate other clubs more than St Kilda (Collingwood and * being the obvious two), there is no club I laugh at more than St Kilda when it comes to players turning down massive money from them.

I think he also rubbished the $12 mil figure.

He sure did

Sam McClure a fortnight ago told the Tradies podcast that Weitering had been offered $12 million over eight years by the Saints, a deal that would have made him one of the highest paid players the game has ever seen.

“The media do inflate numbers. It’s one of those things as players and sportsmen you have to deal with speculation,” Weitering said.

Daniel Hoyne: “Loved what Carlton did on the weekend, more what Carlton did as opposed to the actual result & their ability to get their transition & turnover game back, that was the #1 thing that came out of that performance on the weekend.

First 4-5 weeks of the season, they had it intact, it dropped away over the next 5-6 weeks of the year. [Did it have anything to do with one ruckman?] Potentially, I don't know. The numbers are there.

It's such a long season, I don’t mind clubs having a look at it, but if I’m a Carlton supporter, I’m looking at that going just give De Koning the keys. Well done with Pittonet. You’ve got Pittonet locked away for the next three years. He wouldn’t be costing you too much.”

Kane Cornes: “Perfect, it's actually perfect - I was like why sign him for four years? Because the more I thought about it, he can't go anywhere even if he wants to. If he wants to go to Geelong, Carlton just say no you can't go we've got you.

He's perfect if De Koning gets injured, it's actually a reasonable position that they're in with him. I've seen him play aggressive Finals, De Koning & he is a leader of that midfield I think with the way he plays not necessarily the way he speaks but I love his game.”

Gerard Healy: “I like the move of Zac Williams forward on the weekend, he's been there for a couple of the weeks. He was really struggling in the back half, they were isolating him in the goal square. They've turned a negative into a positive, the question is can he stay on the track & continue to do it.”

Daniel Hoyne: “That was De Koning’s highest rated game of the season this year, but it was more the impact he had on the match around contest & clearance.

Patrick Crippsgame was enormous, but De Koning had close to 10 clearances himself, to have almost 15 contested possessions up against Jarrod Witts, that's his bread & butter - he just looked like he thrived. And we constantly see it around the competition, rucks just want to be rucks, to be the #1 rucks.

Then for them to be able to get their transition game going from the back half, to be able to do it - we haven’t seen a Carlton team move the ball from one end to the other for years. To be able to score almost 75-80 points is something we just don’t see.

That’s the profile that got us excited about Carlton after Round 4 or 5. That's the profile that I'm looking at that going if Carlton dish this up for the remainder of the season, they are absolutely every chance to be the #2 seed going up against Sydney as the #1 challenger.

That’s the sustainable profile. Don’t get consumed with what happens at contest & clearance. That was still strong against Gold Coast. Get consumed by what happened the 4-5 weeks & against Gold Coast because that's the sustainable profile.”

ALEX CINCOTTA, TAKE A BOW

Sometimes we get blurred by greatness, and team-first performances slip under the radar. Hopefully that doesn’t happen with the role that Alex Cincotta has played for Carlton in recent weeks, in the wake of Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh masterclasses.
