Not intended to be a gotcha at all, just backing up Janey and el scorcho’s points below with some evidence from the time

Yeah, there’s a few later respondents who are missing the overall context

Brad Scott just refered to himself as a 'free market capitalist'. Do yous reckon Hinkley even knows what that is?

Consumers thought the iPhone 6 was shit hot in 2014.

If Apple still hadn’t evolved past it by 2024, I’m guessing people would have changed their opinion on the product.

Kane and right in the same sentence?!?!

Basically for 14 years it's been the players aren't good enough and Ports are over achieving.

Never once has the mental midget been able to connect the dots that if the players aren't good enough that maybe the coaching and game plan is at least partially to blame?!?!

Even if you rate the coaching, how hard is it to connect the dots on 14 years of the same voice results in the message going stale.

This is even before you start looking at the message has not delivered anything in finals.

How as a modern society do we still give time to shock jocks.
He's 100% compromised. His opinion is irrelevant. Standard for the Cornes family. Total cancer.

How do these pineapples climb so high in a cutthroat industry, the core business of which they don’t seem to understand?

Because it's not really a cutthroat industry, it's a cushy little boys club where everyone knows everyone and everyone protects each other lest they be the next to lose their job.

Wish I’d devoted my memory capacity (let alone time and money) to something actually worthwhile than this increasingly unrelatable and unappealing sport.

It's a symptom of being a closed off niche sport with no international influence, they can set up protection rackets like the coaches association and slowly condition the masses to mediocrity while the kids that grow up to take our place as supporters wont know any different.

Yeah, capitalist letters are what he has to remember to put at the front of his name when he signs his new contracts.

And he does love getting things for free.

See the change from Coke Zero to Pepsi Max, coinciding with the league change of sponsors...

To answer the last sentence:

Because enough idiots out there keep falling for the same clickbait or radio bytes, and give the nincompoop media jocks enough oxygen by responding.

That dupes their employers into thinking they need to reward stupidity with longer contracts!!!

Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Exhibit A being the fact a bunch of mates who played VAFA Footy together at Old Xaverians, Uni Blues or whatever somehow managed to infiltrate the highest levels of the AFL executive, and now run the league.
