Gold Coast fan-favourite Hewago Oea has been told he will not be offered a contract with the club next season. The Papua New Guinean speedster, known affectionately as ‘Ace’, played 13 games in his four seasons at the Suns. Oea joined the Suns Academy in 2017, made his NEAFL debut in 2019 and was drafted by the Suns as a Category B rookie in 2020.

it’s actually great timing. Brayden, Rory and Darcy all well paid part of the “overpaid group”. So if they stay on the list in the future they’ll be on peanuts. Secco has taken a pay cut previously

All go out of contract the same time as Rowell and Andrew. So the money just moves across

By kicking some out now with contracts makes me think club is prepared for Luko to stay at least for another 12 months or trying to go down to 95% so 2026 we can be at 105%
