Putting aside who the nickname is synonymous with, there are other reasons why Jeremy is no jezza.
Macrae gives Flaicos 5 coaches votes in our game, Flaicos wins the Coaches Award from Cripps by 4 votes.
Nobody who knows anything about footy would have him in the top handful of players that day. His direct opponent Hewett had a much better and more influential game.
Cripps robbed.

Fly would have given Daicos 5 votes even if he wasn't playing.
Maybe we need a second award just for votes from the opposition coaches?

The way I look at it, Cripps wouldn't spend two minutes worrying about something like this. As a fan, I don't attach much value on individual awards in footy. I just want to see wins in finals matches, pretty sure that's where the club's focus will be too.

Good one. This isn't just a hindsight or retrospective issue either. In the lead up to the draft Talia was widely considered a lock for our first pick as a tall defender who met a clear need on our list.
