Here's 2024 Provisional AFL Draft Order

Cheers to Lore for their hard work in setting this up, and making it available for all users on BF to use and keep track of the picks ahead of the upcoming draft - and please practice patience grasshoppers if it's not updated in the immediate aftermath of completed trade

I'll also sticky this post to ensure it's easily accessible for discussion of our hypothetical trader

Also,

2024 Free Agency Period

The AFL introduced free agency at the end of the 2012 season, giving players another vehicle where they can transfer from one club to another. Free agency is a common form of player movement in major football and sporting codes around the world.

Free Agency Opens: Friday October 4 at 9.00am
Free Agency Closes: Friday October 11 at 5.00pm

Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period

Trade Period Opens: Monday October 7 at 9.00am
Trade Period Closes: Wednesday October 16 at 7.30pm

I've seen and heard people suggest that the trade period is too long.
I say no way.

If this is my future being played with. I want to receive calls. I want to think about the options.
I'd need to talk to my partner, my kids. Do due diligence on schools etc.

I dont want my future forced in a tiny time frame.

It's happened to me. I was called into a room. I had to make a decision. I asked if I could at least make a call to chat to someone. "Nope, we need an answer right now"

I became stubborn. And I made the wrong call.
The actual decisions and negotiations can happen all year. The decision put to you sounds on the spot. I'm not sure it's entirely the same for 99% of trades

And for those wondering Owies apartment asking price...

The 27 year old has met with multiple clubs, including West Coast and Gold Coast, as the trade period begins to heat up.

But some clubs have suggested he could struggle to find a home this off-season, with Owies’ asking price believed to be around $700,000-800,000 per season on a multi-year deal.

The Herald Sun understands Carlton has rebuffed that price tag and are open to retaining Owies on a cheaper deal.

😂

Is this a joke? I feel like this is some kind of cruel prank being played on Owies. No way way he's asking for that

Imagine the melts from Richmond if they bought this in and the first club to benefit from it was the Cats. Please do it for that reason alone.
Just get everyone on the list to play for unders until they hit 280 games, then pay them all a million a year for two or three years while they ride the injury list to 300.

So Gullan, Barrett and Mcclueless still think the Oliver camp hasn't given up leaving the Dees.

I just can't see how it gets done, unless Dees do a complete back flip. (assuming it's still Cats that Oliver wants to get to)

But then again, it is Melbourne we're talking about here so I guess anything is possible.
I think he is odds on to leave just not to us

There is a player overestimating their worth, and then there is this:oops:

I thought it was going to suggest around the $600k mark, but when I read the article I knew I had to share it too give the board a good laugh and break things up with no real news currently happening

Barrett is going to flog the horse all the way down the Flemington straight

I can't blame him, things are so going slow that I was thinking of starting a new series "Highlights of our list cloggers 2010-2019" but then I remembered that I had to work a real job to go to so I don't really have the energy.

Since this hasn’t been shared on here i thought I would interesting times

Seems like a blowup, Smith can set his own terms and go into National Draft so that other team's don't take him.
Rival list managers are not wasting a First Round pick in a deep draft on a guy who says, "I'm not playing for you"

That's career suicide for any List manager. Luke ball fell all the way to Pick 30 in this exact scenario, no one else went near him as he said, "Do not draft me, i will only play for one club"

It won't get to that anyway, Power and Mackie are both good at getting deals done. They are already chatting, that's usually a good sign.

Surely we are talking with LDU,

I’m a bit confused by this. I’m not disputing LDU wanting to may or may not leave but if he wants to leave it won’t be for the reason given. There is nothing the Roos can do this draft period that can have them playing finals next season. The only way is up for them from here as they are getting a lot of draft concessions and they have a 4 time premiership coach in charge.

When you read that, knowing it’s crap then it makes you question if the first part of his statement is true also.
