FFS, the Blues poster has already said we are talking to Port about pick 10, and I’m pretty sure it’s already been reported we are not interested in using pick 6 to get pick 2.If we did say 18 and 20/23 for 13 and 29 from port. 6 and 13 for norths 2 and future 1st.
Worst case it was 18 and 20.
Leaves us with 1, 2, 10, 11, 23, 24 and 29
We get to keep the back to back 10 and 11 which is valuable, on trade one of 23 or 24 for a future first.
That would be 6 picks this year with at least 4 being first round and apparently still quality in the early second round.
We have have 3 in 2025, from all reports a shallower draft but we would have (most likely) one top 3 (ours) and one top 6 (north, and I think this is being generous), and then hopefully a team that we can hope slips. If Essendon have 2 they might part with one of them, I would just keep it if it was a Geelong or something.
We will not give up 6! No chanceTigers give 6/10/11/18
Get 2/north’s future 1st /15/16
North get 6/13/18
Port get 10 give 13/29
Gws get 11/29
Give 15/16/
Just my thoughts
Nobody asked, North have spoken to the media advertising to sell it.North Melbourne won't be trading its F1st.

Really good analysis, probably because my thinking aligns with it.I couldn't sleep last night, so finally got around to looking at some video. I definitely haven't got enough knowledge about the juniors as many on here do, but here's who caught my eye (and who didn't)
Pick 1 - Sam Lalor - No alternatives, he's perfect for Richmond, just take him #1
Pick 6 - Smillie is who I really want, but if Melbourne jumped in and grabbed him first then I'd go for Langford over Smith instead. I'm a little nervous about Langford's speed translating to AFL, but he's still that bigger body midfielder we need, ball magnet, good tank, good extractor and good skills. I'm sure there are plenty who would take Langford over Smillie, but I just think he'll be a difference maker at AFL level in time.
Pick 10 - Xavier Lindsay - Lindsay just screams 200+ game AFL quality to me. He has elite disposal, composure, speed, skills, tacking, leadership, etc. Outside of the Top 6-7, he's the one I want more than anyone. Having his best game as BOG in the U18 Champs decider also shows he thrives at an elevated level which typically is a good sign for kids stepping up to AFL.
Pick 11 - Shanahan then Armstrong if he's gone - We need a key forward, I'm assuming one of them should be on the board still at this point. If Smith does slip to our 2 picks at 10/11 then I'd consider taking him here with Lindsay and get a key forward with 18 instead. If all those options are gone already then it means there's been a couple of sliders to consider instead.
18-24 options I like
Berry - Skillful, moves well, I know he's listed as a small forward but seems to get a bit of the ball in the midfield as well. Would be happy to get him on the list.
J Whitlock - I know I already have us taking Shanahan or Armstrong earlier, but in the event they are both gone, or we want another type of tall forward who can also ruck a bit, then I'd take Jack. Looks like he has a good frame for AFL, good mark, mobile enough, clean below his knees, good kick for goal.
Datolli - Another like Berry with good skills up forward and through the midfield. Nice mark, seems pretty tough, I like how he attacks the ball. Seems like a natural footballer.
Trainor - We have enough picks to take the punt on him, I haven't seen his concussion incidents to see how innocuous they were, but I'd much rather take the risk on him than Tauru who has bad decision making/disposal, that's a team killer down back in defence.
This gives us 3 gun mids of different types (Lalor, Smillie/Langford, Lindsay), 2 tall forwards (Shanahan, Whitlock), 1 tall back (Trainor) and 2 more mid/fwd rotation type players (Berry, Datolli). I think that's a good mix of talent to go along with what we already have on the list and the areas we need to focus on. Other roles we can look at in future drafts as ones that are easier to fill with later picks and don't take as long to develop (i.e. hbf types)
I'm sure we'll trade one of our picks into an F1, so one of them will miss out, however I also don't mind the look of Moraes & Hynes as mid types or Barrat if someone else takes Trainor, or we don't like the concussion issues.
Having looked at a bit of video, I can see why the club is hesitant to trade away our picks and I'd be happy to just keep what we have. If we trade up to get FOS then I'm on board, but I can understand why we wouldn't give up 6 and another pick to get him and risk missing out on someone like Smillie or Langford (or Lindsay).
Players I wouldn't target with our picks
Smith - Good extractor, doesn't seem very damaging with the ball, I'd only consider him if he slides to 10/11
Tauru - Bad decision making/disposal for a defender? Even his highlights had him coughing up goals. No thanks, let Norf have him
Allen - Great clearances, but terrible disposal, pass
Hotton - Another with bad disposal, pass
Thank God Blair won’t, that’s rubbish from our point of viewSo lets get this right
Tigers out : #6 , #10 , #11 , #18
Tigers in : #2 , #15 ,#16 + Norths F1
I Could live with that
#6 + #11 for #2 + F1
#10 +#18 for #15 + #16
Signs that the acid is kicking in for emThank God Blair won’t, that’s rubbish from our point of view
Same as pick 2, right? Your club is bloody desperate to get back into the first round of this draft, Rawlings has put your club in a horrendous position. Watch and cringe bud, you’ll sell the farm to buy back inNorth Melbourne won't be trading its F1st.

FFS, the Blues poster has already said we are talking to Port about pick 10, and I’m pretty sure it’s already been reported we are not interested in using pick 6 to get pick 2.
I’m intrigued as to what’s actually going on, with 4 clubs involved, Norf adjusting its list as if they are splitting pick 2. I reckon it’s pretty certain we will end up with 2,6 but we will surely lose more than 10 to achieve that objective?
Take a look at Shanahan's highlights in the VFL, as impressive as Jaggers !!Really good analysis, probably because my thinking aligns with it.
I particularly like the emphasis on disposal effectiveness and it will be very high on our agenda (aggenda) especially after Yzes comments when he first walked into the club. Lindsay would have to be the best kick in the draft and as you rightly pointed out, his other attributes really do set him apart. Not far behind Lindsay would be Berry and Oliver (Wilmot mk2).
What I'm having real difficulty with is the KPF's as I don't see any of them being that spearhead that a forward line can be built around. Armstrong is inconsistent with his contested marking, Shanahan looks a bit one dimensional and for some reason I'm hesitant on the Whitlocks, probably because of their wiry frames. Faull projects as a very good 2nd tall but with Bauer, LeFau and Gray I don't see him worth spending a 1st round pick on.
I wouldn't be surprised if we hold fire on the KPF's, reckon there's a few irons in the fire targeting one through trading or FA. A key defender in Trainor though could round out our backline nicely.
I think that the area of greatest need is a decent ruck/forward, one that can act as a spearhead but also chop out in the ruck, well at least provide a presence. So Sims or Gerreyn should be looked at very closely.
I'm hoping that Tauru, Armstrong, Reid and Travaglia go in the top 10 as the player that I most want after taking picks 1, 2 & 6 is Lindsay.
the rumor is:
Richmond are trying to find a way to get pick 2 without moving on from 6
as C4[2]Yo`DooR has said, it's a 3 or 4 way deal with North, Richmond, Port and GWS.
the main deal swings on Richmond getting pick 2 from North, the Tigers are doing the heavy lifting.
this is a deal primarily between Richmond and North to move pick 2 to Richmond and strengthen North's draft hand this year.
North have pick 2 then 62, they don't care about future firsts in a heavily compromised 2025 draft, they need more picks in this draft.
if the deal gets done there will be 2 criteria that needs to be met or we don't proceed
No 1: we get pick 2 and keep pick 6
No 2: all other deals are in our favour to attain the above No 1 criteria
otherwise the deal will not go ahead and we walk away, or try to find another way
And if it is an indication 1st pick of night 2 becomes very valuableWhere can we view the invitation list of players ?
Cant believe Hotton wont be selected in the 1st round
I don't think we get 2 unless we involve 6I reckon it’s pretty certain we will end up with 2,6 but we will surely lose more than 10 to achieve that objective?
Why would we downgrade picks in a strong draft just to have more picks in a weaker draft?I dont hate it , But i could live with it
But if the #18 was #20 - I would Love it
#1 & #2 is better than #1 + #6
#10 for F1 is overs but compensates for the upgrade of #6 to #2
#11 + #20 would be a great result for #15 + #16 and we could still get Hotton & Shannahan
4 picks for 4 picks
#1 , #2 , #15 , #16 , #18 , #23 , #24
Take the first 5 picks in the draft
Trade #23 + #24 into Bombers & St Kilda F1's
5 1st rounders in 2024
4 1st rounders in 2025 ( Richmond , North , St Kilda , Essendon) plus Richmond 2nd rounder
yes he is you’d have to be a mr magic level nufftard not to see it.Hotton is hardly like Shai, not even ball park
Hotton might become a star, but he is not Shai
How can you say this? Shai went at pick 29.Hotton is hardly like Shai, not even ball park
Hotton might become a star, but he is not Shai
You watch his highlights, clever taps to himself, raking kick, takes contested marks way above his weight, goal assists and racks it up in the middle. Yeah, nothing like Shai…How can you say this? Shai went at pick 29.
No one knows what Hotton will develop into. Stop writing off or putting a ceiling on kids before they've even set foot in an AFL environment.
