I can't believe they are now allowed to sell games to Perth.
This gives a massive leg up to Freo, who will be competing with us for a spot in the 8. It could be the difference in a tight season.

I appreciate that the WA teams travel more than any other teams in the competition but I really don’t like this. I have no sympathy for North.

When we tried to do it in the 90's the AFL said no, clubs were not allowed to sell games into 'established AFL areas".

At the time that included SA and WA.

Edit: Just **** Norf, Bullflogs and Saints off, then bring in Tassie - back to 16 teams.

Tassie having a multitude of choices at their training facility

baldandbroke can confirm which ovals they will be using

The bit circled in red will be for AFL.

One of those is currently the cricket oval - which will get moved to a new oval to make space.

The Kingborough Sports Complex (where Twin Ovals are) is getting pretty decent ... that main oval is not a small ground (160m x 125m cf AO: 167m × 123m):

If we were able to outbid Freo, we’d have been able to get that game.

I think Bulldogs are well run and financially secure, doubt they’re headed for the chopping block. I’d be happy just culling those 2, add a northern Australian team with home games in cairns, Darwin and Alice and reduce quarter lengths (if required), eliminate preseason matches and extend the season to 25 games. Default is all odds play each other twice as do the evens. Then the clubs agree as to the swaps required to enable the important financially productive double ups ie showdowns, pies/blues etc.
